While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said,“ Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house,

While he was yet speaking, there came another and said,“ Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,

While he was still speaking, another messenger arrived with this news:“ Your sons and daughters were feasting in their oldest brother’s home.

有一天，约伯的儿女正在他们长兄的家里吃饭喝酒的时候，

他的儿子素常轮流各按自己的日子在家摆设筵席，并且打发人去邀请他们的三个姊妹来一同吃喝。

“虽然我使你们各城的人牙齿干净，各处都缺乏粮食；但你们仍不归向我。”这是耶和华的宣告。“我曾在收割前三个月，不降雨给你们；我降雨给一个城，在另一个城却不降雨；我在一块地降雨，另一块地没有雨水就枯干了。两三个城的居民挤到一个城去找水喝，却没有足够的水喝；但你们仍不归向我。”这是耶和华的宣告。“我曾多次用热风和霉烂击打你们的园子和葡萄园，叫蝗虫吃光你们的无花果树和橄榄树；但你们仍不归向我。”这是耶和华的宣告。“我在你们中间降下瘟疫，正如临到埃及的瘟疫一样；我用刀杀掉你们的年轻人，你们被掳去的马匹也遭杀戮；我使你们营里死尸的臭气扑鼻，但你们仍不归向我。”这是耶和华的宣告。“我倾覆你们，就像倾覆所多玛和蛾摩拉一样；你们像一根木柴，从火里抽出来；但你们仍不归向我。”这是耶和华的宣告。

押沙龙吩咐他的仆人说：“你们注意！暗嫩酒酣耳热的时候，我对你们说：‘击杀暗嫩！’你们就把他杀死。不要惧怕，这不是我吩咐你们的吗？你们要坚强，作勇敢的人。”

“直到今日我还有苦情要申诉，我虽然叹息，他的手仍然沉重。

义人虽有许多苦难，但耶和华搭救他脱离这一切。

即使他的儿女增多，还是被刀剑所杀，他的子孙也必永不得饱食；

每次扫过的时候，都把你们抓去；因为每早晨它必漫过，白天与黑夜也是这样；人若明白所传的，必受惊恐。

众人的命运都是一样的：义人与恶人、好人与坏人、洁净的与不洁净的、献祭的与不献祭的，所遭遇的都是一样的；好人怎样，罪人也怎样；起誓的怎样，怕起誓的也怎样。

你的儿女若得罪了他，他就因他们的过犯撇弃他们。

驿卒一个接一个跑来，报信的也相继而至，向巴比伦王报告，他的京城已经完全被攻取了。

他把我破伤，在破口上又加破伤，如勇士一般向我直冲。

他从我身上剥去我的荣耀，又挪去我头上的冠冕。他四面拆毁我，我就离世，他又把我这指望如树枝一样拔出来。

“但愿称称我的烦恼，把我的灾害一起放在天平上。现在这些都比海沙更重，所以我冒失发言。

所有过路的人啊！你们毫不在意吗？你们要细察要观看，有没有痛苦像我所受的痛苦，就是耶和华在他发烈怒的日子使我所受的痛苦。
