耶穌曰：『予臨斯世、實為黜陟、欲使不見者得見、而自以為明者轉成瞽盲。』

耶稣说：“我为审判到这世上来，叫不能看见的，可以看见；能看见的，反瞎了眼。”

耶稣说：“我到这世上来是为了行审判，使看不见的能看见，使看得见的反而瞎了眼。”

耶穌說：「我為審判到這世上來，叫不能看見的，可以看見；能看見的，反瞎了眼。」

Jesus said,“ For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.”

Jesus said,“ I have come into this world to judge it. I have come so that people who are blind will see. I have come so that people who can see will become blind.”

Jesus said,“ For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.”

Then Jesus told him,“ I entered this world to render judgment— to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.”

Jesus said,“ I came into this world for judgment, in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.”

And Jesus said,“ For judgment I came into this world, so that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.”

And Jesus said,“ For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.”

And Jesus said, For judgment came I into this world, that they that see not may see; and that they that see may become blind.

Jesus said,“ I came into this world for judgment, in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.”

And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

Jesus said,“ I came into this world for judgment, that those who don’t see may see; and that those who see may become blind.”

夫真光入世、而世人以行為邪惡故、獨愛黑暗、而不愛光明；故曰譴在其中矣。

予之來、所以為世之光、庶幾信予者不復滯留於黑暗之中。

欲汝啟眾民萬邦之目、使自黑暗轉向光明、脫沙殫之掌握而歸依天主、俾以信予之故、而獲罪赦、與一切因信成聖者同嗣洪基。」

耶穌又謂眾曰：『予乃世之光、從予者不行黑暗中、必具生命之光。』

上主之神、臨我之身；恩膏沐首、大命是膺。天主遣我、所為何因：窮苦無告、得聆福音；俘囚獲釋、瞽者復明；困者以解、屈者以伸；

『主已蒙其目、主已頑其心、恐其目有見、恐其心有靈、恐其即回頭、令吾全其生。』此言皆意灑雅有見乎耶穌之榮而發也。

反之、嫉惡其兄弟者、實仍處於暗昧、行於暗昧、而茫然不知其所向；蓋其心目已為暗昧所蒙、而失其視覺矣。

其時耶穌正治病療疾、祛魔啟盲、

對曰：『其為罪人與否？吾不之知；惟吾素為盲者、今乃明見、此則吾之所知也。』

然則如何？曰：義塞之所求、未之得也、其中蒙恩者得之、而其餘則已成麻木不仁之徒矣。經云：『天主已使其冥頑不靈、有目而不能見、有耳而不能聞、以迄於今；』此之謂也。大維亦曰：『願其筵席之化作羅穽兮、自食其所作之孽。願其目之昏矇而不見兮、背常曲而不直。』

故曰：睡者其興、死者其起！惟彼基督、光明照爾。

對曰：『先生、孰為天主子？吾固欲信之！』耶穌曰：『汝今已見之、與汝語者即是！』其人曰：『主乎！吾信也！』遂頂禮。

憑主慈腸、東方已曙；

惟於後者實為肅殺之陰氣、而於前者則為令人永生之淑氣耳。嗚呼、誰堪負此重任乎？

爾之判斷、惟依形相、予則不判任何人、

蓋天主遣子入世非以判世、乃以濟世。

且有後來居上、先來居下者焉。』

蓋斯世之君、已矇不信者之心、以致基督榮耀福音之真光、亦無由照入；而基督固天主之肖影也。蓋吾人決不作自我宣傳、惟知宣揚吾主耶穌基督；而吾人則因耶穌之故、而充爾等之僕人者耳。夫天主昔嘗作光於黑暗之中矣、今乃照耀於吾人之心中、俾吾人得藉基督耶穌之聖容、而洞識天主之光榮。

爾目乃爾身之燈也、爾目明則全身光明、目眊則身陷昏暗。是以爾當省察、莫令爾之心光、轉成昏昧也。

父不予人以黜陟、黜陟之權、已委之於子、欲使眾人敬子如敬父、凡不敬子者、即不敬遣子之父也。予切實告爾、人能聽從吾言、而信仰遣予來者、莫不享受永生、而免譴責、蓋已出死而入生矣。予切實語爾、時將屆矣、今即是也、死者當聞天主聖子之音、而聞之者咸得生焉。蓋父自具生命、賜子亦自具生命。以其為人子故、委以黜陟之權。

西默翁祝之、謂聖母曰：『此子之誕生、義塞眾人之禍福興亡繫焉。斯天下之正鵠、而又眾矢之的也。

瞽者明、跛者行、癩者潔、聾者聰、死者起、而窮苦無告者得聆嘉音。

目不正則身陷晦冥。是故心光若晦、則晦之為晦、又將何如！

若輩視而不見、聽而不聞、冥頑不悟、故以譬喻訓之。意灑雅之預言、實應於若輩之身矣。其言曰：斯民之心、已成頑梗；厥耳重聽、厥目自閉、若恐其目之有見、耳之有聞、心之有悟、幡然回頭、而獲救於我也。」

而爾等則為蒙選之族、赫赫司祭、雍雍神國實天主之眷屬也。天主既召爾等出於黑暗入於靈光、爾等可不表彰大德乎。

以種種邪法、熒惑自求淪喪之徒。所謂自求淪喪之徒者、即不知愛慕真理、以望得救者耳。
