As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted,“ Crucify! Crucify!” But Pilate answered,“ You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him.”

So when the chief priests and the officers saw Him, they shouted, saying,“ Crucify, crucify!” Pilate* said to them,“ Take Him yourselves and crucify Him; for I find no grounds for charges in His case!”

Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying,“ Crucify Him, crucify Him!” Pilate said to them,“ You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.”

Pilate told them,“ You take him and judge him according to your law.”“ It’s not legal for us to put anyone to death,” the Jews declared.

Pilate went outside again and said to them,“ Look, I’m bringing him out to you to let you know I find no grounds for charging him.”

Pilate asked them,“ What should I do then with Jesus, who is called Christ?” They all answered,“ Crucify him!”

Pilate then told the chief priests and the crowds,“ I find no grounds for charging this man.”

They shouted,“ Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them,“ Should I crucify your king?”“ We have no king but Caesar!” the chief priests answered.

When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that a riot was starting instead, he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said,“ I am innocent of this man’s blood. See to it yourselves!”

Pilate asked them again,“ Then what do you want me to do with the one you call the king of the Jews?”Again they shouted,“ Crucify him!”Pilate said to them,“ Why? What has he done wrong?” But they shouted all the more,“ Crucify him!”Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them; and after having Jesus flogged, he handed him over to be crucified.

Since the residents of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize him or the sayings of the prophets that are read every Sabbath, they have fulfilled their words by condemning him.Though they found no grounds for the death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him killed.When they had carried out all that had been written about him, they took him down from the tree and put him in a tomb.

Which of the prophets did your ancestors not persecute? They even killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become.

Though he was delivered up according to God’s determined plan and foreknowledge, you used lawless people to nail him to a cross and kill him.

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you handed over and denied before Pilate, though he had decided to release him.You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked to have a murderer released to you.You killed the source of life, whom God raised from the dead; we are witnesses of this.

But look, the hand of the one betraying me is at the table with me.For the Son of Man will go away as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!”So they began to argue among themselves which of them it could be who was going to do it.
