你們當記住我對你們說過的話：「沒有一個奴僕大過他的主人。」他們既然逼迫了我，也會逼迫你們；如果他們遵守了我的話，也就會遵守你們的話。

Remember what I told you:‘ A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.

Remember what I told you. I said,‘ A slave is not more important than his master.’( John 13:16) If people hated me and tried to hurt me, they will do the same to you. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.

其實，所有想要在基督耶穌裡過敬神生活的，也都會受到逼迫；

「我確確實實地告訴你們：沒有一個奴僕大過他的主人，也沒有一個被派的大過派他的人。

學生不高於他的老師，奴僕也不高於他的主人。

這些猶太人不但殺了主耶穌和先知們，也驅逐了我們，並且不討神的喜悅，又與所有的人作對，

受逼迫，卻不被撇棄；被打倒，卻沒有滅亡。

並且親手勞苦做工。被人辱罵，我們就祝福；被人逼迫，我們就容忍；

我們所傳的，有誰相信了？耶和華的膀臂向誰顯現了？他在耶和華面前如嫩芽生長，又像根出於乾旱之地；他沒有佳形、威榮，可以讓我們仰視他；也沒有美貌，可以讓我們仰慕他。他被藐視、遭人厭棄，是個受痛苦、知憂患的人；他像一個被人掩面不看的人，他被藐視，連我們也不尊重他。

猶太人又拿起石頭要砸死他。

「事實上，希律和本丟彼拉多，與外邦人和以色列子民果然在這城裡一同聚集，對付你所膏立的聖僕耶穌，做成了你手和你計劃所預定要成就的一切事。主啊，現在求你鑒察他們的威嚇，使你的奴僕們能滿有膽量地傳講你的話語。求你伸出你的手，藉著你聖僕耶穌的名，使疾病痊癒，施行神蹟和奇事。」

有哪一位先知，你們的祖先不逼迫呢？他們殺了那些預言那義者要來的先知，現在你們又成為那義者的出賣者和凶手了。你們領受了藉天使所設立的律法，卻不遵守。」他們聽了這些話就勃然大怒，向司提反咬牙切齒。但是司提反充滿聖靈，注目望天，看見了神的榮耀，又看見耶穌站在神的右邊。他說：「看哪，我看見諸天開了，人子站在神的右邊。」於是他們大聲喊叫，摀著耳朵，一齊向他衝過去，把他拉到城外，用石頭砸他。那些見證人把自己的外衣放在一個稱為掃羅的年輕人腳前。他們用石頭砸司提反的時候，司提反向主呼求，說：「主耶穌，求你接受我的靈魂！」然後他跪下，大聲呼喊：「主啊，不要把這罪歸於他們。」說了這話，他就睡了。

那些猶太人之所以逼迫耶穌，是因為他在安息日做這些事。

我確確實實地告訴你們：人如果遵守我的話語，就絕不見死亡，直到永遠。」

原來，祭司長們和法利賽人早就下令，如果有人知道耶穌在哪裡，就要報告，好抓住他。

他們因此拿起石頭要砸他。耶穌卻被隱藏，離開了聖殿。

西面祝福他們，並對孩子的母親瑪麗亞說：「看哪，這孩子註定要使以色列中許多人跌倒、許多人興起，並要成為一個遭受反對的標記，

法利賽人聽到了眾人私下議論耶穌的這些事。於是祭司長們和法利賽人就派差役們去抓他。

耶和華對撒母耳說：「你就聽從民眾對你說的一切話。其實他們不是厭棄你，而是厭棄我作他們的王。

學生不高於他的老師，但所有學成的人，將會像他的老師一樣。
