Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue;

At the same time that Jesus did those signs, many of the Jewish leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees, they would not openly admit they believed. They were afraid they would be thrown out of the synagogue.

Nevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue;

Many people did believe in him, however, including some of the Jewish leaders. But they wouldn’t admit it for fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue.

认识公义，把我的训诲存在心里的人民哪！你们要听我的话。你们不要怕人的辱骂，也不要因人的毁谤而惊惶。

但没有人敢公开讲论他，因为怕犹太人。

他的父母这样说，是因为怕犹太人，原来犹太人已经定好了，不论谁承认耶稣是基督，就要把那人赶出会堂。

惧怕人的，必陷入网罗；倚靠耶和华的，必得安全。

“凡在人面前承认我的，我在我天父面前也要承认他；

他夜间来到耶稣那里，对他说：“拉比，我们知道你是从神那里来的教师，因为如果没有神同在，你所行的这些神迹，就没有人能行。”

你们可以这样认出神的灵：凡是承认耶稣基督是成了肉身来的，那灵就是出于神。

有许多到马利亚那里去的犹太人，看见了耶稣所作的事，就信了他。

因为有许多犹太人为了拉撒路的缘故，离开他们，信了耶稣。

他们说：“你的确是在罪中生的，还敢教训我们吗？”就把他赶出去。

官长或法利赛人中间有谁是信他的呢？至于这群不明白律法的人，他们是可咒诅的。”他们当中有一个人，就是以前来见耶稣的尼哥德慕，对他们说：“如果不先听取他本人的口供，查明他所作的事，我们的律法怎能把他定罪呢？”

世人为人子的缘故憎恨你们、排斥你们、辱骂你们，弃绝你们的名好像弃绝恶物，你们就有福了。

因耶和华的话而战兢的人哪！你们要听他的话。他说：“你们的兄弟，就是那些憎恨你们、因我的名赶走你们的，曾说：‘愿耶和华得荣耀；让我们看见你们的喜乐。’他们却要蒙羞。

使徒欢欢喜喜从公议会里出来，因为他们算是配得为主的名受辱。

彼得坐在外面的院子里，有一个婢女走过来对他说：“你也是和加利利人耶稣一伙的。”彼得却当众否认，说：“我不知道你说什么。”他出到门口，又有一个婢女看见他，就对那里的人说：“这人是和拿撒勒人耶稣一伙的。”彼得再次否认，并且发誓说：“我不认识那个人。”过了一会，站在那里的人前来对他说：“你的确是他们中间的一个，因为一听你的口音就认出来了。”彼得就发咒起誓说：“我不认识那一个人。”立刻鸡就叫了。彼得想起耶稣所说的话：“鸡叫以前，你会三次不认我”，他就出去痛哭。

“我告诉你们，凡在人面前承认我的，人子在神的使者面前也承认他；

人要把你们赶出会堂；并且时候要到，所有要杀害你们的人，以为这样就是事奉神。

因为心里相信就必称义，用口承认就必得救。

这些事以后，有一个亚利马太人约瑟来求彼拉多，要领耶稣的身体；他因为怕犹太人，就暗暗地作耶稣的门徒。彼拉多批准了，他便把耶稣的身体领去。

你怕谁？你因谁而惧怕，以致你对我说谎呢？你不记念我，也不把我放在心上，是不是因为我长久缄默，你就不惧怕我呢？

亲爱的，有火炼的试验临到你们，不要以为奇怪，好像是遭遇非常的事，倒要欢喜，因为你们既然在基督的受苦上有分，就在他荣耀显现的时候，可以欢喜快乐。你们要是为基督的名受辱骂，就有福了！因为神荣耀的灵，住在你们身上。你们中间不可有人因为杀人、或偷窃、或行恶、或好管闲事而受苦。如果因为作基督徒而受苦，不要以为羞耻，倒要藉着这名字荣耀神。

凡承认耶稣是神的儿子的，神就住在他里面，他也住在神里面。
