凡遇見他們的、就把他們吞滅；他們的敵人說：「我們沒有罪責，因為是他們自己犯罪得罪了永恆主，那真正的居所，他們列祖所仰望的。」

因為你看，我必激動一班大國，使他們從北方之地上來、攻擊巴比倫；他們必擺陣攻擊她；就從那裏她就要被攻取；他們的箭如同善戰的勇士，總不空回。

你向利巴嫩行的強暴必淹沒你，野獸之毁滅必驚嚇你；因為你殺了人而流其血，又向國內、向都市和其中一切居民行了強暴、的緣故。

天一亮、大衛清早起來，將羊羣交給一個看守的人，照耶西所吩咐他的，拿起食物來、就走，到了輜重營，軍兵剛出陣，在戰場上吶喊。

『搶掠我產業的啊，你們雖歡喜，雖快樂，雖踹弄草地像母牛犢，又發嘶聲如雄壯的馬，

『你們要把箭頭磨光，把全副武器裝束起來；因為永恆主定意擊打巴比倫，將她毁滅，故此永恆主激動了瑪代王的心；因為這是永恆主的報復，為他的殿而行的報復。你們要把旌旗豎起，對着巴比倫城牆加強守望；要派立守望人，預設埋伏；因為永恆主指着巴比倫居民而說的話、他不但定了計畫，他也作成。

我必打發簸穀的人到巴比倫去簸颺她，使她的地空空如也；因為在她遭禍的日子、他們必四圍攻擊她。

萬軍之永恆主這麼說：『看吧，我必折斷以攔的弓、其勇力之主要武器。

『你們要在境內豎起旌旗。在列邦中吹號角，使列邦行聖禮備戰來攻擊巴比倫，將亞拉臘、米尼、亞實基拿這些國召集來攻擊她；又派大元帥來擊打她，使馬匹上來像翅膀林立的蝻子。

她的額上寫着名字、有象徵的奧祕：「大巴比倫、地上淫婦之母、可憎之物之母！」

馬匹上去吧！車輛狂奔吧！勇士出陣哦！手揮盾牌的古實人和弗人哪！拉弓的路德族啊！

看吧，我必激動瑪代人來攻擊他們；瑪代人不看重銀子，不喜愛金子。少年人的弓、他們必折斷，婦人所生的、他們不憐憫，他們的眼不顧惜小孩。

約押見前後都有戰陣擺着，就從以色列所有的精兵中挑選了一些來，把他們擺好了陣、以便對亞蘭人接戰。

他們的箭快利，他們的弓都上了弦；他們的馬蹄算來像火石，他們的車輪好像旋風。

聽啊！山間有大眾喧嘩的聲音呢！好像許多眾民的嘈雜；聽啊！有列國喧鬧的響聲呢！有聚攏來的列邦之鬨嚷。萬軍之永恆主在點閱着軍隊，準備着赴戰。
