我必在你面前打发大黄蜂，把希未人、迦南人、赫人，都从你面前驱逐出去。我不在一年之内把他们从你面前驱逐出去，恐怕这地变为荒凉，又恐怕田野间的走兽多起来害你。

于是以色列王把众先知聚集了来，约有四百人，问他们：“我可以去攻打基列的拉末吗？或是应当忍耐不去呢？”他们说：“你可以上去，主必把那城交在王的手里。”

约拿单对替他拿武器的仆人说：“来！我们过到这些未受割礼的人的驻军那里去，也许耶和华会为我们动工，因为不论人多或人少，都不能妨碍耶和华施行拯救。”

耶和华对约书亚说：“你不要因他们惧怕，因为明天这个时候，我必使他们全数在以色列人面前被杀；你要砍断他们的马蹄筋，焚烧他们的车辆。”于是约书亚和所有与他在一起能作战的人，在米伦水边突然迫近，攻打他们。耶和华把他们交在以色列人手里，以色列人就击杀他们，追赶他们直到西顿大城、米斯利弗．玛音，以及在东边的米斯巴谷；以色列人击杀他们，没有留下一个。

如果他们对我们这样说：‘你们上到我们这里来吧！’我们就上去，这就是我们的凭据，因为耶和华已经把他们交在我们的手里了。”

耶和华对约书亚说：“你不要怕他们，因为我已经把他们交在你手里了；他们必没有一人能在你面前站立得住。”于是约书亚乘夜从吉甲上去，突然来到他们那里。耶和华使他们在以色列人面前溃乱，约书亚在基遍大大地击杀他们，沿着伯．和仑的上坡路追赶他们，击打他们，直到亚西加和玛基大。

米该雅来到王那里的时候，王就问他：“米该雅啊，我们可以到基列的拉末去作战吗？或是要忍耐不去呢？”米该雅回答亚哈：“你可以上去，必得胜利，因为耶和华必把那城交在王的手里！”
