For as in the day of Midian’s defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor.

You set Israel free from Midian long ago. In the same way, you will break the heavy yoke that weighs Israel down. You will break the wooden beams that are on their shoulders. You will break the rods of those who strike them down.

For the yoke of his burden, and the staff for his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as on the day of Midian.

For you will break the yoke of their slavery and lift the heavy burden from their shoulders. You will break the oppressor’s rod, just as you did when you destroyed the army of Midian.

万军之耶和华要挥动鞭子攻击他们，就像在俄立磐石那里击打米甸人；耶和华的杖要向海伸出，他必像在埃及那样举起杖来。到那日，亚述人的重担必从你们的肩头挪开，他们的轭必从你们的颈项脱离；那轭是因你们肥壮而撑断的。

你必藉着公义坚立；你必远离欺压，不会害怕，也必远离惊吓，因惊吓必不临近你。

亚述人必因耶和华的声音而丧胆，耶和华必用杖击打他们；耶和华施刑的杖每打他们一下，人都会击鼓和弹琴；打仗的时候，耶和华必挥手与他们争战。

在耶和华使你脱离痛苦、烦扰，脱离被迫做的苛役，得享安息的日子里，你必对巴比伦王唱这首讽刺歌：“压迫人的怎么止息了呢？凶暴怎么止息了呢？耶和华打断了恶人的杖和管辖者的权杖——

我要使欺负你的人吃他们自己的肉；他们必醉饮自己的血，如同醉饮甜酒。那时，一切有血肉的就都知道：我是耶和华，是你的拯救者，是你的救赎主，是雅各的大能者。”

恶人的杖不能留在义人所分得的土地上，免得义人把手伸进不义。

你必靠着你的刀剑生存，也必服事你的弟弟；到了你奋起反抗的时候，你必从颈项上挣脱他的轭。”

求你对待他们，如同对待米甸，如同在基顺溪流对待西西拉和耶宾——他们在尹多尔被除灭，成为那地上的粪土。求你使他们的贵族如同俄立和西伊伯，使他们所有的王子如同西巴和撒慕拿，

祸哉！亚述，我怒气的棍！他们手中的杖就是我的愤怒。

我对我的子民发怒，使我的继业被亵渎，又把他们交在你的手中；你却没有对他们施怜悯，即使对老年人，你也把你的轭重重地压在他们身上。

竟忘记了那造你的耶和华，就是展开诸天、奠定大地根基的那一位；竟终日不断地惧怕，就是惧怕压迫者预备行毁灭时的怒火！其实那压迫者的怒火在哪里呢？
