Surely wickedness burns like a fire; it consumes briers and thorns, it sets the forest thickets ablaze, so that it rolls upward in a column of smoke.

What is evil burns like a fire. It burns up bushes and thorns. It sets the forest on fire. It sends up a huge column of smoke.

火怎樣焚燒森林，火焰怎樣燒盡群山，

因此，火舌怎樣吞噬麥稭，乾草怎樣倒在火焰中，照樣，他們的根也必像腐朽之物，他們的花必像塵土飛散；因為他們厭棄萬軍之耶和華的訓誨，藐視以色列聖者的言語。

在這世代的終結也將是這樣。天使們要出去，把惡人從義人中分別出來，丟進火爐裡。在那裡將有哀哭和切齒。」

這就是耶和華報復之日，是為錫安的爭訟施行報應的年日。以東的溪流將變成柏油，它的塵土將變成硫磺，它的土地將成為燃燒著的柏油——晝夜總不熄滅，煙氣永遠上騰；那地世世代代荒涼，永永遠遠無人經過。

耶和華必使人聽見他威嚴的聲音，又以猛烈的怒氣、吞噬的火焰、暴雨、狂風和石頭般的冰雹，使人看見他掄下來的膀臂。

眾民必被燒成灰燼，好像砍下的荊棘在火中燒掉。

原來，那焚燒場早已安排好了，是為君王所預備的；它又深又寬，其中充滿了火和許多木柴；耶和華的氣息如同一股硫磺火使它燃燒起來。

然而惡人必將滅亡，耶和華的仇敵如同草場的華美必將消逝——如煙消逝。

因為耶和華必以烈火和他的刀劍審判一切有血肉的；那時被耶和華所殺的人會很多。耶和華宣告：「那些自我分別為聖、自我潔淨去園林追隨他們中的一個，去吃豬肉、可憎之物和老鼠的，都必一同被掃除。」

有權勢的必成為麻絮，他的作為必成為火花；二者共燃，無人撲滅。

如果你的一隻手使你絆倒，就把它砍掉！對你來說，缺一隻手進入永生，要比雙手齊全下地獄，到那永不熄滅的火裡好多了。

我裡面沒有怒火，但誰要是給我荊棘蒺藜，我就大步前去與他們交戰，把他們徹底燒掉；

但如果它長出荊棘和蒺藜，就沒有用處了，很快就要被詛咒，它的結局就是被焚燒。

那時王要對在左邊的人說：『你們這些被詛咒的人！離開我！進到那已經為魔鬼和他的使者們所預備好的永遠的火裡去！

因此，主萬軍之耶和華必使衰敗臨到亞述王肥壯的勇士；在亞述王的榮耀之下，必有火燃起，如同烈火燃燒。以色列的光必成為火，他的聖者必成為烈焰，一日之內就把亞述王的荊棘和蒺藜焚燒吞噬；亞述王樹林和果園的榮美必全然滅絕，好像病重的人消逝那樣。

折磨他們時的煙往上冒，直到永永遠遠。那些膜拜獸和獸像的，以及任何接受牠名字印記的，都將日夜得不到安息。
