耶和華歟、何任我離爾道、剛愎厥心、不敬畏爾、緣爾僕爾所選之支派故、尚其復返、

我迷於道、剛愎我心、不畏耶和華爾何聽其然、望爾垂念、眷顧爾僕、救爾選民。

主歟、何任我迷失主之道、何聽我剛愎我心、不敬畏主、求主為主之僕、為主所選之支派、復加眷顧、

Why, Lord, do you make us wander from your ways and harden our hearts so we do not revere you? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes that are your inheritance.

Lord, why do you let us wander away from you? Why do you let us become so stubborn that we don’t respect you? Come back and help us. We are the tribes that belong to you.

And when it rested, he said:“ Return, O Lord, To the many thousands of Israel.”

Return, O Lord! How long? And have compassion on Your servants.

For anyone of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell in Israel, who separates himself from Me and sets up his idols in his heart and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, then comes to a prophet to inquire of him concerning Me, I the Lord will answer him by Myself.I will set My face against that man and make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of My people. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.“ And if the prophet is induced to speak anything, I the Lord have induced that prophet, and I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among My people Israel.

“ He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, Lest they should see with their eyes, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.”

“ Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy, And shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And return and be healed.”

Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice wicked works With men who work iniquity; And do not let me eat of their delicacies.

With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!

Return, we beseech You, O God of hosts; Look down from heaven and see, And visit this vine

Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness.

Then the Angel of the Lord answered and said,“ O Lord of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which You were angry these seventy years?”

Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.You will say to me then,“ Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?”But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it,“ Why have you made me like this?”

Therefore the Lord said:“ Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,

For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that He might utterly destroy them, and that they might receive no mercy, but that He might destroy them, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

O God, why have You cast us off forever? Why does Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture?Remember Your congregation, which You have purchased of old, The tribe of Your inheritance, which You have redeemed— This Mount Zion where You have dwelt.

And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

“ But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass through, for the Lord your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, that He might deliver him into your hand, as it is this day.
