木匠勉勵銀匠，用鎚打光的勉勵打砧的，論銲工說，銲得好；又用釘子釘穩，免得偶像動搖。

米迦說：「你們將我所做的神像和祭司都帶了去，我還有所剩的嗎？怎麼還問我說『做甚麼』呢？」

雅各就對他家中的人並一切與他同在的人說：「你們要除掉你們中間的外邦神，也要自潔，更換衣裳。

我們既是神所生的，就不當以為神的神性像人用手藝、心思所雕刻的金、銀、石。

惟恐你們敗壞自己，雕刻偶像，彷彿甚麼男像女像，或地上走獸的像，或空中飛鳥的像，或地上爬物的像，或地底下水中魚的像。

「『有人製造耶和華所憎惡的偶像，或雕刻，或鑄造，就是工匠手所做的，在暗中設立，那人必受咒詛！』百姓都要答應說：『阿們！』

至於你的神像，你在誰那裏搜出來，就不容誰存活。當着我們的眾弟兄，你認一認，在我這裏有甚麼東西是你的，就拿去。」原來雅各不知道拉結偷了那些神像。
