Lord, by such things people live; and my spirit finds life in them too. You restored me to health and let me live.

Lord, people find the will to live because you keep your promises. And my spirit also finds life in your promises. You brought me back to health. You let me live.

O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these is the life of my spirit. Oh restore me to health and make me live!

Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health. You restore my health and allow me to live!

祂讓你們忍饑挨餓，然後賜給你們祖祖輩輩從未見過的嗎哪吃，為了使你們明白人活著不是單靠食物，乃是靠祂口中的每一句話。

「人因受罰而臥病在床，骨頭疼痛不止，以致毫無食慾，對佳餚心生厭惡。他日漸消瘦，只剩下骨頭。他的靈魂臨近深坑，他的生命瀕臨死亡。如果一千天使中有一位能做他的中保，指示他當行的事，上帝就會憐憫他，說，『別讓他下墳墓，我已得到他的贖金。』那時，他的皮肉將嫩如孩童，他將恢復青春的活力。他向上帝禱告時必蒙悅納，他歡呼著朝見上帝，再度被祂視為義人。他會當眾歌唱說，『我犯了罪，顛倒是非，祂卻沒有按我的罪報應我。祂救贖我的靈魂，使之免下深坑，使我的生命得見光明。』

你使我經歷了許多患難，最終必使我重獲新生，救我脫離死亡的深淵。

主審判我們，是對我們的管教，免得我們和世人一同被定罪。

我們這短暫輕微的苦難正在為我們成就極大無比、永遠的榮耀。

我們的生身父親是按自己以為好的標準暫時管教我們，但上帝是為了我們的益處而管教我們，使我們可以在祂的聖潔上有份。被管教的滋味絕不好受，當時都很痛苦，但事後那些受過管教的人會收穫公義和平安的果子。

我幾乎性命不保，求你照你的應許救我的性命。

耶穌回答說：「聖經上說，『人活著不是單靠食物，乃是靠上帝口中的每一句話。』」

你眷顧樂於行義、遵行你旨意的人。我們不斷地犯罪惹你發怒，我們怎能得救呢？
