When you give it to those who cannot read, they will say,“ We don’t know how to read.”

Or if you give the scroll to someone who cannot read, and say,“ Read this, please,” they will answer,“ I don’t know how to read.”

Or suppose you give the scroll to someone who can’t read. And suppose you say,“ Please read this for us.” Then they’ll answer,“ I don’t know how to read.”

And when they give the book to one who cannot read, saying,“ Read this,” he says,“ I cannot read.”

And if the document is given to one who cannot read and he is asked to read it, he will say,“ I can’t read.”

Then the book will be given to the one who is illiterate, saying,“ Please read this.” And he will say,“ I cannot read.”

Then the book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying,“ Read this, please.” And he says,“ I am not literate.”

and the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee; and he saith, I am not learned.

And if the document is given to one who cannot read and he is asked to read it, he will say,“ I can’t read.”

And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

Or when they hand the scroll to one who can’t read and say,“ Read this,” he says,“ I can’t read.”

and the book is delivered to one who is not educated, saying,“ Read this, please;” and he says,“ I can’t read.”

The people were surprised when they heard him.“ How does he know so much when he hasn’t been trained?” they asked.So Jesus told them,“ My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.

My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me. Since you priests refuse to know me, I refuse to recognize you as my priests. Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget to bless your children.

God has told his people,“ Here is a place of rest; let the weary rest here. This is a place of quiet rest.” But they would not listen.So the Lord will spell out his message for them again, one line at a time, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there, so that they will stumble and fall. They will be injured, trapped, and captured.

Then I said,“ But what can we expect from the poor? They are ignorant. They don’t know the ways of the Lord. They don’t understand God’s laws.

In that day the deaf will hear words read from a book, and the blind will see through the gloom and darkness.
