因為耶和華建造錫安，在自己的榮耀裡顯現。

我親愛的弟兄們，請聽！神難道不是揀選了世上的那些貧窮人，使他們在信仰上富有，並且做他國度的繼承人嗎？這國度是他應許給愛他之人的。

耶和華所立的根基在聖山上；

你是貧弱者的保障，是貧窮人在危難中的保障；是躲避暴雨的避難所，是遮擋炎熱的蔭庇；因為強橫者的鼻息好像暴雨擊打牆壁。

亞述王聽到了有關庫實王特哈加出來要與自己爭戰的消息。他一聽到，就派遣使者們到希西加那裡，並吩咐使者們：

錫安的居民哪，你們當高聲歡呼，因為以色列的聖者在你們當中是至大的！」

就派遣他兒子約蘭去見大衛王，向他問安，為他祝福，因為大衛攻打哈大底謝並擊敗了他；原來哈大底謝一直是陀伊的敵手。約蘭手中帶著銀器、金器和銅器，

我還告訴你：你是彼得，我要在這磐石上建立我的教會，陰間的門不能勝過它。

耶和華的名是堅固的塔樓，義人跑進去就安穩在高處。

在那段時期，巴拉旦的兒子巴比倫王米羅達·巴拉旦聽說了希西加患病又康復了，就給他送來書信和禮物。

「當你們看見藉著先知但以理所說的『那帶來毀滅的褻瀆者』站在聖地的時候——讀者應當思考——那時，在猶太的人應當逃到山裡；

你僕人們的子孫將安居，他們的後裔將在你面前堅立。」

相反，你們卻是來到了錫安山、永生神的城、天上的耶路撒冷面前；來到了千萬天使的盛會面前；

我論居魯士說：『我的牧人！他必成就我所喜悅的一切』，論耶路撒冷說：『必被重建』，又論聖殿說：『根基必被奠定。』」

因為耶和華選擇了錫安，選定她作自己居住的地方：「這是我永遠的安息之所；我要住在這裡，因為我選定了錫安。

「你這經受困苦、屢遭風暴、不得安慰的城啊！看哪！我必把你的石頭安置在金屬銻上，以藍寶石奠定你的根基，

所以，主耶和華如此說：「看哪！我在錫安放一塊作根基的石頭，是試驗過的石頭，是寶貴的房角石，穩固的根基——信靠的人必不驚慌。

必有餘剩之民從耶路撒冷而出，必有幸存者從錫安山而來。萬軍之耶和華的熱心必成就這事。』

這約當天就被廢除了。這樣，那仰望我的困苦羊群，就知道這是耶和華的話語。

他必以公義審斷貧弱者，以正直裁決世上的卑微人；以口中的杖擊打世界，以嘴裡的氣殺死惡人。

躲避白天炎熱的遮蔭棚，躲避狂風暴雨的避難所和藏身處。

於是，我就牧養這將被殺戮的羊群，就是困苦的羊群。我拿了兩根杖，一根稱為「恩慈」，另一根稱為「聯合」。這樣，我就牧養了羊群。
