The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on that Branch. The Spirit will help him to be wise and understanding. The Spirit will help him make wise plans and carry them out. The Spirit will help him know the Lord and have respect for him.

And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

The LORD’s spirit will rest on him– a spirit that gives extraordinary wisdom, a spirit that provides the ability to execute plans, a spirit that produces absolute loyalty to the LORD.

Yahweh’s Spirit will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh.

主耶和华的灵在我身上，因为耶和华膏了我，叫我传福音给困苦的人；差遣我去医治伤心的人，向被掳的宣告自由，向被囚的宣告释放；

只等真理的灵来了，他要引导你们进入一切真理。他不是凭着自己说话，而是把他听见的都说出来，并且要把将来的事告诉你们。

看哪！这是我的仆人，我扶持他；我所拣选的，我的心喜悦他；我已经把我的灵赐给他，他必把公理带给万国。

也把你们在圣灵里的爱心告诉了我们。因此，我们从听见的那天起，就不停地为你们祷告祈求，愿你们藉着一切属灵的智慧和悟性，可以充分明白神的旨意，

耶稣受了洗，立刻从水中上来；忽然，天为他开了，他看见神的灵，好像鸽子降下来，落在他身上；

求我们主耶稣基督的神，荣耀的父，赐给你们智慧和启示的灵，使你们充分地认识他，并且使你们心灵的眼睛明亮，可以知道他的呼召有怎样的盼望；他基业的荣耀，在圣徒中是多么的丰盛；

因为神所赐给我们的，不是胆怯的灵，而是有能力、仁爱、自律的灵。

约翰又作见证说：“我曾看见圣灵，好像鸽子从天上降下来，停留在他的身上。我本来不认识他，但那差我来用水施洗的对我说：‘你看见圣灵降下来，停留在谁身上，谁就是用圣灵施洗的。’

至于从天上来的智慧，首先是纯洁的，其次是和平的，温柔的，谦逊的，满有恩慈和善果，没有偏袒，没有虚伪。这是缔造和平的人，用和平所培植出来的义果。

这保惠师就是真理的灵，世人不能接受他，因为看不见他，也不认识他。你们却认识他，因为他跟你们住在一起，也要在你们里面。

你们因着神得以在基督耶稣里，他使基督成了我们的智慧；就是公义、圣洁和救赎，

神所差来的那一位讲神的话，因为神把圣灵无限地赐给他。

耶和华说：“至于我，我与他们所立的约是这样：我加在你们身上的灵和我放在你口里的话，必不离开你的口，不离开你后裔的口，也不离开你后裔的后裔的口，从现在直到永远；这是耶和华说的。”

你们要就近我，当听这话：‘从起初我就没有在隐密处说过话，自从有这事情的存在，我就在那里。’现在主耶和华差遣了我和他的灵。

“我从父那里要差来给你们的保惠师，就是从父那里出来的真理的灵，他来到的时候，要为我作见证。

耶和华在云中降临，对摩西说话，把摩西身上的灵，分给那七十个长老；灵停在他们身上的时候，他们就说预言，以后却没有再说。那时还有两个人留在营里；一个名叫伊利达，一个名叫米达；灵也停在他们身上。他们原是在被录取的人中，却没有到会幕那里去；他们就在营里说预言。

嫩的儿子约书亚，因为摩西曾经按手在他身上，就充满了智慧的灵；以色列人就听从他，照着耶和华吩咐摩西的去行了。

为的是要他们的心得着勉励，在爱中彼此联系，可以得着凭悟性、因确信而来的一切丰盛，也可以充分认识神的奥秘，这奥秘就是基督；一切智慧和知识的宝库都蕴藏在基督里面。

并且知道神怎样用圣灵和能力膏立拿撒勒人耶稣。他到各处行善事，医好所有被魔鬼压制的人，因为神与他同在。
