As one reaches into a nest, so my hand reached for the wealth of the nations; as people gather abandoned eggs, so I gathered all the countries; not one flapped a wing, or opened its mouth to chirp.’”

I’ve taken the wealth of the nations. It was as easy as reaching into a bird’s nest. I’ve gathered the riches of all these countries. It was as easy as gathering eggs that have been left in a nest. Not a single baby bird flapped its wings. Not one of them opened its mouth to chirp.’ ”

My hand has found like a nest the wealth of the peoples; and as one gathers eggs that have been forsaken, so I have gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved a wing or opened the mouth or chirped.”

I have robbed their nests of riches and gathered up kingdoms as a farmer gathers eggs. No one can even flap a wing against me or utter a peep of protest.”

若以貨財之豐、手獲之多為樂、

爾雖高居如鷹、結巢星間、我必使爾下墜、耶和華言之矣、

爾居巖穴、據山巔者、自以為可畏、心傲而自欺、爾縱若鷹巢於高處、我必取爾、自彼而降、耶和華言之矣、

以詭詞得財、如追浮氣、適以取死、惡者不行義、其暴戾必覆之、

增其第宅、廣其田疇、致無隙地、獨居於中、禍哉其人、

彼為迦南人、手執欺誑之衡、以勒索為悅、以法蓮自謂、我誠富有、已得貨財、凡我勞而獲者、人不得見我有不義、可視為罪、

彼嗜酒行詐、驕傲而不安居、擴張其欲、恍若陰府、如死亡之無饜、集萬邦、會萬民、使為己有、斯眾豈不以譬詞諷之、以隱語嘲之曰、禍哉其人、聚斂非己之財、擔負典質之重、伊於胡底、剝削爾者、豈不勃興乎、窘迫爾者、豈不亟起乎、爾必為其所虜之物、因爾刦掠多邦、流人之血、行強暴於其地其邑、及凡居於其中者、諸國之遺民、亦必刦掠爾、○獲不義之財、以富其家、營巢於高處、以避凶暴之手、其人禍哉、爾之所謀、翦滅多民、貽羞爾家、自取罪戾、壁中之石將呼、木中之梁將應、○

隕越為心驕之繼、謙遜在尊榮之先、

掠其銀、刦其金、寶藏無盡、珍器甚多、邑既空虛荒涼、人心消沮、兩膝相觸、腰間痛楚、面俱失色、獅穴與稚獅養育之區、牡獅牝獅稚獅遊行、無人恫喝之所、今安在哉、牡獅裂者、以給稚獅、攫者以予牝獅、以所裂者充其穴、以所攫者盈其洞、萬軍之耶和華曰、我為爾敵、必焚爾車為煙、以刃戮爾稚獅、爾所裂者、絕於地上、爾使之聲、不復聞焉、禍哉血邑、詭譎強暴充滿、刦奪不息、
