“ Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God. A spirit of prostitution is in their heart; they do not acknowledge the Lord.

“ They can’t return to me because they have done so many evil things. In their hearts they long to act like prostitutes. They do not recognize me as the Lord.

My people consult a wooden idol, and a diviner’s rod speaks to them. A spirit of prostitution leads them astray; they are unfaithful to their God. (niv)

We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands.Whoever says,“ I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. (niv)

I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes.In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good.Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong. my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.“ Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. (niv)

“ Does it make you a king to have more and more cedar? Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just, so all went well with him.He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?” declares the Lord. (niv)

Hear the word of the Lord, you Israelites, because the Lord has a charge to bring against you who live in the land:“ There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land. (niv)

but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord. (niv)

I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart. (niv)

Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. (niv)

A drought on her waters! They will dry up. For it is a land of idols, idols that will go mad with terror. (niv)
