See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no“ root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

慎之哉、恐有失上帝恩者、恐有苦根發萌以擾爾、致眾玷污、

慎勿失上帝恩、恐有若惡草、根株滋長、妨爾浼眾、

當謹慎、恐爾中有失天主之恩者、恐有毒根滋長、妨礙爾眾、使多人染穢污、

又宜互相檢點、莫使有一人退化、而自絕於天主之聖寵；莫使辛螫之根苗、萌櫱滋蔓、為厲之階、而令眾人受其沾染；

See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

Be sure that no one misses out on God’s grace. See to it that a bitter plant doesn’t grow up. If it does, it will cause trouble. And it will make many people impure.

Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.

Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.

Beware lest there be among you a man or woman or clan or tribe whose heart is turning away today from the Lord our God to go and serve the gods of those nations. Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit,

You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.

Yet I planted you a choice vine, wholly of pure seed. How then have you turned degenerate and become a wild vine?

Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it.

Do not be deceived:“ Bad company ruins good morals.”

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses.How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?For we know him who said,“ Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again,“ The Lord will judge his people.”It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings,sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated.For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one.Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.

Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?— unless indeed you fail to meet the test!

For their vine comes from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of poison; their clusters are bitter;

Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.

And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end,

Have we not had enough of the sin at Peor from which even yet we have not cleansed ourselves, and for which there came a plague upon the congregation of the Lord,that you too must turn away this day from following the Lord? And if you too rebel against the Lord today then tomorrow he will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel.But now, if the land of your possession is unclean, pass over into the Lord’s land where the Lord’s tabernacle stands, and take for yourselves a possession among us. Only do not rebel against the Lord or make us as rebels by building for yourselves an altar other than the altar of the Lord our God.Did not Achan the son of Zerah break faith in the matter of the devoted things, and wrath fell upon all the congregation of Israel? And he did not perish alone for his iniquity.’”

But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.

Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.

Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution,

For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are his pleasant planting; and he looked for justice, but behold, bloodshed; for righteousness, but behold, an outcry!

“ Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children’s children—

What more was there to do for my vineyard, that I have not done in it? When I looked for it to yield grapes, why did it yield wild grapes?

You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.

but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”

And Joshua said,“ Why did you bring trouble on us? The Lord brings trouble on you today.” And all Israel stoned him with stones. They burned them with fire and stoned them with stones.And they raised over him a great heap of stones that remains to this day. Then the Lord turned from his burning anger. Therefore, to this day the name of that place is called the Valley of Achor.

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.

And he will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he sinned and made Israel to sin.”

Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed.

Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness,

And Moses said to Aaron,“ What did this people do to you that you have brought such a great sin upon them?”

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

For, speaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely escaping from those who live in error.

But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness,and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,

But you, keep yourselves from the things devoted to destruction, lest when you have devoted them you take any of the devoted things and make the camp of Israel a thing for destruction and bring trouble upon it.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air.But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish everyone with tears.
