It says,“ My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” (niv)

who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. (niv)

But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;for it is written:“ Be holy, because I am holy.” (niv)

But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— (niv)

you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (niv)
