You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot.

You came out to set your people free. You saved your chosen ones. You crushed Pharaoh, the leader of that evil land of Egypt. You stripped him from head to foot.

The LORD handed them over to Israel and they struck them down and chased them all the way to Greater Sidon, Misrephoth Maim, and the Mizpah Valley to the east. They struck them down until no survivors remained.

He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, whom he had chosen.

When they brought the kings out to Joshua, he summoned all the men of Israel and said to the commanders of the troops who accompanied him,“ Come here and put your feet on the necks of these kings.” So they came up and put their feet on their necks.

The Lord deserves praise! Day after day he carries our burden, the God who delivers us.( Selah)Our God is a God who delivers; the LORD, the sovereign Lord, can rescue from death.Indeed God strikes the heads of his enemies, the hairy foreheads of those who persist in rebellion.The Lord says,“ I will retrieve them from Bashan, I will bring them back from the depths of the sea,so that your feet may stomp in their blood, and your dogs may eat their portion of the enemies’ corpses.”

I chase my enemies and catch them; I do not turn back until I wipe them out.I beat them to death; they fall at my feet.You give me strength for battle; you make my foes kneel before me.You make my enemies retreat; I destroy those who hate me.They cry out, but there is no one to help them; they cry out to the LORD, but he does not answer them.I grind them as fine windblown dust; I beat them underfoot like clay in the streets.You rescue me from a hostile army; you make me a leader of nations; people over whom I had no authority are now my subjects.When they hear of my exploits, they submit to me. Foreigners are powerless before me;foreigners lose their courage; they shake with fear as they leave their strongholds.

Joshua captured all these royal cities and all their kings and annihilated them with the sword, as Moses the LORD’s servant had commanded.

Moses said to the people,“ Do not fear! Stand firm and see the salvation of the LORD that he will provide for you today; for the Egyptians that you see today you will never, ever see again.The LORD will fight for you, and you can be still.”

It happened at midnight– the LORD attacked all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the prison, and all the firstborn of the cattle.Pharaoh got up in the night, along with all his servants and all Egypt, and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was no house in which there was not someone dead.

O God, when you lead your people into battle, when you march through the desert,( Selah)

Joshua captured in one campaign all these kings and their lands, for the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.

Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD. They said,“ I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously, the horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea.The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

You led your people like a flock of sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

As they fled from Israel on the slope leading down from Beth Horon, the LORD threw down on them large hailstones from the sky, all the way to Azekah. They died– in fact, more died from the hailstones than the Israelites killed with the sword.

The LORD strengthens his people; he protects and delivers his chosen king.

You destroyed the sea by your strength; you shattered the heads of the sea monster in the water.You crushed the heads of Leviathan; you fed him to the people who live along the coast.

Now I am sure that the LORD will deliver his chosen king; he will intervene for him from his holy heavenly temple, and display his mighty ability to deliver.

Moses and Aaron were among his priests; Samuel was one of those who prayed to him. They prayed to the LORD and he answered them.

Then you spoke through a vision to your faithful followers and said:“ I have energized a warrior; I have raised up a young man from the people.I have discovered David, my servant. With my holy oil I have anointed him as king.My hand will support him, and my arm will strengthen him.

His people remembered the ancient times. Where is the one who brought them up out of the sea, along with the shepherd of his flock? Where is the one who placed his holy Spirit among them,
