誰不照顧自己的親屬，尤其是不照顧自己的家人，就是違背真道，比不信的人還壞。

身為基督的使徒，我們理當受到你們的尊重，然而我們像母親撫育嬰兒一樣溫柔地對待你們。

約瑟來到法老面前，對他說：「我父親和我的弟兄們已經帶著他們的羊群、牛群和所有的一切從迦南來了，現在就在歌珊。」

上帝說，『要孝敬父母』，又說，『咒罵父母的，必被處死。』你們卻說，『人如果把供養父母的錢奉獻給上帝，他就不必供養父母。』你們這是用傳統來廢掉上帝的誡命。

他必讓你的生命重新得力，奉養你，使你安度晚年，因為他是愛你的兒媳婦所生的。有這兒媳婦比有七個兒子還要好！」
