When he had finished speaking with Abraham, God went up from him.

Kings will be among your descendants!And I will give you the land I once gave to Abraham and Isaac. Yes, I will give it to you and your descendants after you.”Then God went up from the place where he had spoken to Jacob.Jacob set up a stone pillar to mark the place where God had spoken to him. Then he poured wine over it as an offering to God and anointed the pillar with olive oil.And Jacob named the place Bethel( which means“ house of God”), because God had spoken to him there.

No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

As the flames from the altar shot up toward the sky, the angel of the Lord ascended in the fire. When Manoah and his wife saw this, they fell with their faces to the ground.

The Father and I are one.”

And the Lord said to them,“ Now listen to what I say:“ If there were prophets among you, I, the Lord, would reveal myself in visions. I would speak to them in dreams.But not with my servant Moses. Of all my house, he is the one I trust.I speak to him face to face, clearly, and not in riddles! He sees the Lord as he is. So why were you not afraid to criticize my servant Moses?”

Then the angel of the Lord touched the meat and bread with the tip of the staff in his hand, and fire flamed up from the rock and consumed all he had brought. And the angel of the Lord disappeared.

At the mountain the Lord spoke to you face to face from the heart of the fire.

At this, Abram fell face down on the ground. Then God said to him,
