When I say to a wicked person,‘ You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.

Suppose I say to a sinful person,‘ You can be sure you will die.’ And you do not warn them. You do not try to get them to change their evil ways in order to save their life. Then that sinful person will die because they have sinned. And I will hold you responsible for their death.

If I say to the wicked,‘ You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.

If I warn the wicked, saying,‘ You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths.

If I say to the wicked person,‘ You will surely die,’ but you do not warn him— you don’t speak out to warn him about his wicked way in order to save his life— that wicked person will die for his iniquity. Yet I will hold you responsible for his blood.

如守望者見刃將至、不吹角、致民不警備、刃至殺其中一人、則彼死於罪中、而其喪命之罪、我必討問於守望者、

如善人離善行惡、我聽其陷罪、以致死亡、爾不戒之、必死於罪中、彼所為之善、不得記憶、而其喪命之罪、必責問於爾、

兄弟乎、爾中若有迷失真道者、有人使之反正、當知使罪人由迷途反正、乃救其靈魂不死、且掩多罪焉、

故我今日、向爾明證、爾曹有人沈淪、罪不在我、原文作爾眾之血於我無與蓋天主之旨、我悉以告爾、一無所隱、

我言惡人必死、如爾不言以警惡人、使改悔其行、則惡人必死於罪、而其喪命之罪、我必責問於爾、而其喪命之罪我必責問於爾原文作而其血必討於爾手如爾警戒惡人、使彼改悔、彼仍不改悔、則必死於罪、惟爾則自保自保或作救己生命、○惟爾人子歟、當告以色列族曰、爾曹常言、我儕愆尤罪惡、歸於我身、因以消亡、豈能生存、

彼得又以多言警而勸之曰、爾當自救、離此邪世、

耶穌復謂眾曰、我往、爾必尋我、爾必死於爾罪中、我往之所、爾不能至、

非也、我告爾、爾曹不悔改、亦必皆亡、

爾當慎己、亦慎所教、當恆心在此、如是而行、則可自救、亦救聽爾者、

故我謂爾云、爾必死於爾罪中、爾若不信我之為我、或作爾若不信我為基督必死於爾罪中、

惟區別善惡之樹、其果不可食、食之日必死、○

貸人金、索利取息、此人能生乎、必不能生、既行此一切可憎之事、固必死亡、死罪歸之、

故主如是云、爾寢於床、不得再下、爾必死矣、以利亞遂往、

我告爾、爾曹不悔改、亦必皆亡、

故爾當悔改反正、使爾罪得抹、

惟犯罪之人必死、子不負父罪、父不負子罪、善人之善歸己、惡人之惡歸已、

因爾知凡姦淫者、污穢者、貪婪者、於基督及天主之國無分、貪婪者與拜偶像者無異也、勿為人之虛言所誘、蓋緣如此之事、天主怒、臨於不信從之人、

主天主如是云、我必降罰於牧者、必索我羊於爾手、使不復牧羊、牧者亦不復牧養己身、必救我羊於爾口、不復為爾所食、

世人俱屬我、為父者屬我、為子者亦屬我、惟犯罪者必死、

惡人行惡而見逐、善人臨死而有望、

禍哉惡人、必遭災害、必循其手所作而受報、

致創世以來、流先知之血、悉將討於此代、即自亞伯之血、至被殺於祭臺及殿間撒迦利亞之血、我誠告爾、此血皆必討於此代、

有害爾命流爾血者、或獸或人、我必討其罪、人與人為兄弟、人若害人命、我必討其罪、凡流人血者、人亦必流其血、緣天主造人、乃肖己像也、

主天主曰、以色列族歟、我必循爾人人所行以鞫爾、爾當悛改愆尤、恐愆尤罹爾喪敗、爾當悛改愆尤恐愆尤罹爾喪敗或作爾當悛改離爾罪愆恐爾愆尤陷爾於禍以色列族歟、棄所犯之罪愆、新爾心神、何為自取死亡、主天主曰、人死於罪、我所不悅、爾當悛改、自保生命、

勿遽按手於人、或作勿輕為人行按手之禮勿與人共罪、當守己以潔、○

惟園之中一樹、其果、天主戒曰、毋食毋捫、恐致死亡、蛇對婦曰、爾曹未必死、

況爾惡人、入無辜者之家、殺之於床、我豈能不討其血於爾手、滅爾於地乎、

蓋主曾有言曰、其人必死於曠野、故耶孚尼子迦勒與嫩之子約書亞外、其餘無一存留、

流便謂之曰、我豈不曰、毋害童子而獲罪、今流其血之罪、向我討之、
