“ And you, son of man, listen to what I tell you: Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth and eat what I am giving you.”

But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not rebel like that rebellious people; open your mouth and eat what I give you.”

So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me,“ Take and eat it; it will be bitter in your stomach, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.”

Your words were found, and I ate them. Your words became a delight to me and the joy of my heart, for I bear your name, LORD God of Armies.

The Lord GOD has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious; I did not turn back.

Don’t neglect the gift that is in you; it was given to you through prophecy, with the laying on of hands by the council of elders.Practice these things; be committed to them, so that your progress may be evident to all.Pay close attention to your life and your teaching; persevere in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers.

“ Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will not enter the land I have given the Israelites, because you both rebelled against my command at the Waters of Meribah.

Next he said to me,“ Son of man, listen carefully to all my words that I speak to you and take them to heart.

not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.

Moses and Aaron summoned the assembly in front of the rock, and Moses said to them,“ Listen, you rebels! Must we bring water out of this rock for you?”Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff, so that abundant water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,“ Because you did not trust me to demonstrate my holiness in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this assembly into the land I have given them.”These are the Waters of Meribah, where the Israelites quarreled with the LORD, and he demonstrated his holiness to them.

Moses said to Aaron,“ This is what the LORD has spoken: I will demonstrate my holiness to those who are near me, and I will reveal my glory before all the people.” And Aaron remained silent.

and the prophet cried out to the man of God who had come from Judah,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ Because you rebelled against the LORD’s command and did not keep the command that the LORD your God commanded you—but you went back and ate food and drank water in the place that he said to you,“ Do not eat food and do not drink water”— your corpse will never reach the grave of your ancestors.’”
