Now go, lead the people to the place I spoke of, and my angel will go before you. However, when the time comes for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin.”

Therefore now go, lead the people unto[ the place] of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.

申冤在我，我必报应，到时候他们必站不住脚，他们遭祸的日子近了，他们的末日来了。’

“看啊，我要差遣天使走在你前面，在路上保护你，带领你平安地到达我为你预备的地方。

因此，所有义人在地上所流的血，就是从义人亚伯的血，直到你们在圣所和祭坛之间所杀的巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血，都要归到你们身上。

不可跪拜它们，也不可供奉它们，因为我——你的上帝耶和华痛恨不贞，我必追讨背弃我之人的罪，从父到子直到三四代。

“这邪恶的会众向我发怨言要到何时呢？我已听见以色列人对我的埋怨。你们去把我的话告诉他们，‘以色列人啊，我凭我的永恒起誓，我必照你们所说的对待你们。你们当中凡登记在册、二十岁以上向我发怨言的人，必倒毙在这旷野中，除耶孚尼的儿子迦勒和嫩的儿子约书亚之外，你们无人能进入我起誓应许的那片土地。

我怎能不惩罚他们呢？我怎能不亲自报应这样的国民呢？这是耶和华说的。

耶和华说：“我怎能坐视不理呢？我怎能不惩罚这样的国家呢？

祂应许要带领你们脱离在埃及所受的苦难，到迦南人、赫人、亚摩利人、比利洗人，希未人和耶布斯人住的地方，那里是奶蜜之乡。’

祂苦他们所苦，亲自拯救他们。祂本着慈爱和怜悯救赎了他们，自古以来一直扶持、照顾他们。

但我们呼求耶和华，祂就垂听了我们的声音，差遣天使把我们领出埃及。现在我们来到你边境的加低斯城，

还是你藐视祂深厚的慈爱、宽容和忍耐，不知道祂的慈爱是要引导你悔改吗？你这样硬着心不肯悔改等于是为自己积蓄烈怒，上帝的烈怒在祂施行公义审判的那天必临到你。上帝必照各人的行为施行赏罚。

耶和华回答他说：“我必亲自与你同去，使你平安稳妥。”摩西说：“你若不与我们同去，就不要让我们离开这里。

我必差遣天使走在你们前面，赶出当地的迦南人、亚摩利人、赫人、比利洗人、希未人和耶布斯人，

我追讨以色列人的罪时，要摧毁伯特利的祭坛，将祭坛的角砍落在地。

耶和华，我们的上帝啊，你应允了他们，向他们显明你是赦罪的上帝，但也惩罚他们的罪恶。
