So Moses went back to the Lord and said,“ Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold.

And Moses returned unto Jehovah, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

你们不可为我制造偶像，不可为自己造任何金银的神像。

第二天，摩西对百姓说：“你们犯了大罪。我如今要上耶和华那里去，或许可以为你们赎罪。”

因为你们所犯的一切罪，做了耶和华眼中看为恶的事，惹他发怒，我就像从前一样俯伏在耶和华面前四十昼夜，没有吃饭，没有喝水。我很害怕，因为耶和华向你们大发烈怒，要除灭你们。但那一次耶和华又应允了我。

“不可为自己雕刻偶像，也不可做什么形像，仿佛上天、下地和地底下水中的百物。

说：“我的神啊，我抱愧蒙羞，不敢向你—我的神仰面，因为我们的罪孽多到灭顶，我们的罪恶滔天。从我们祖先的日子直到今日，我们的罪恶深重；因我们的罪孽，我们和君王、祭司都交在邻国诸王的手中，被杀害，掳掠，抢夺，脸上蒙羞，正如今日的景况。

耶和华啊，我们和我们的君王、官长、祖先因得罪了你，脸上就都蒙羞。

耶和华—以色列的神啊，你是公义的，我们才能剩下这些残存之民，正如今日的景况。看哪，我们在你面前有罪恶，因此无人能在你面前站立得住。”

摩西在耶和华那里四十昼夜，不吃饭不喝水。他把这约的话，那十条诫命，写在版上。

我们犯罪作恶，行恶叛逆，偏离你的诫命典章，

以色列众人都犯了你的律法，偏离、不听从你的话；因此，你仆人摩西律法上所写的诅咒和誓言倾倒在我们身上，因我们得罪了神。

在一切临到我们的事上，你是公义的，因为你所行的是信实，我们所做的是邪恶。
