So Moses went back to the Lord and said,“ Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold.

And Moses returned unto Jehovah, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

除了敬拜我之外，不可为自己制造金银神像。

第二天，摩西对百姓说：“你们犯了大罪，我现在要到耶和华那里，也许可以为你们求得赦免。”

“我又俯伏在耶和华面前，四十昼夜不吃不喝，因为你们犯了大罪，做耶和华憎恶的事，惹祂发怒。耶和华向你们发烈怒，要毁灭你们，我非常惧怕。但耶和华再次垂听了我的祈求。

“不可为自己雕刻神像，不可仿照任何飞禽走兽或水族的样子造神像，

说：“我的上帝啊，我羞愧难当，不敢抬头看你，因为我们的恶行灭顶，我们的罪恶滔天。从我们的祖先开始到现在，我们罪恶深重。由于我们的罪恶，我们、我们的君王和祭司都落在外邦君王的手中，被他们杀害、俘虏、抢掠和羞辱，如同今天的光景。

主啊，我们和我们的君王、首领、先祖因得罪了你而满脸羞愧。

以色列的上帝耶和华啊，你是公义的，所以我们这些余民今天才得以幸存。看啊，我们在你面前身负罪恶，因而无人能在你面前站立得住。”

摩西在耶和华那里待了四十昼夜，没吃也没喝。耶和华把约的内容，就是十条诫命，写在石版上。

我们犯罪作恶，行为邪恶叛逆，偏离你的诫命和典章，

以色列人都违背你的律法，偏离正道，不听从你的话。你仆人摩西的律法书上所记载的咒诅和审判都落在了我们身上，因为我们得罪了你。

在这临到我们的一切事上，你都是公义的，因为你行事信实，我们行事邪恶。
