Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Israel, to whom you swore by your own self:‘ I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and I will give your descendants all this land I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever.’”

神应许亚伯拉罕的时候，因为没有比自己更大的可以指着起誓，他就指着自己起誓，

耶和华向亚伯兰显现，说：“我要把这地赐给你的后裔。”亚伯兰就在那里为向他显现的耶和华筑了一座祭坛。

说：“耶和华说：‘我指着自己起誓，你既然作了这事，没有留下你的儿子、你的独生子，

就在那时候，耶和华与亚伯兰立约说：“我已经把这地赐给你的后裔了，就是从埃及河直到幼发拉底河之地；

于是领他到外面去，说：“你向天观看，数点众星，看你能不能把它们数得清楚。”又对他说：“你的后裔将要这样众多。”

那救我脱离一切祸患的使者，赐福给这两个童子。愿我的名，我祖亚伯拉罕和以撒的名，藉着他们得以流传；愿他们在地上生养众多。”

神对他说：“我是全能的神，你要繁衍增多，必有一国和众国从你而生，又必有很多君王从你而出。我赐给亚伯拉罕和以撒的地，我要赐给你，我也要把这地赐给你的后裔。”

耶和华又对亚伯兰说：“我是耶和华，曾经把你从迦勒底的吾珥领出来，为要把这地赐给你作产业。”

他扶助了他的仆人以色列，为要记念他的怜悯，正如他向我们列祖所说的，恩待亚伯拉罕和他的后裔，直到永远。”

求你记念你的仆人亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各；不要看这民族的顽固、邪恶和罪过，

耶和华站在梯子上，说：“我是耶和华你祖父亚伯拉罕的神，也是以撒的神，我要把你现在躺着的这块地赐给你和你的后裔。你的后裔必像地面的灰尘那么多；你必向东、南、西、北扩展；地上的万族必因你和你的后裔得福。

你看见的地方，我都要赐给你和你的后裔，直到永远。我要使你的后裔好像地上灰尘那么多；若能数算地上的灰尘，才能数算你的后裔。

你要寄居在这地，我必与你同在，必赐福给你，因为我要把这全地都赐给你和你的后裔，履行我向你父亲亚伯拉罕所起的誓。我必使你的后裔增多，好像天上的星那样多；我必把这全地都赐给你的后裔；地上的万国都必因你的后裔得福。

而是因为耶和华对你们的爱，又因为他遵守他向你们的列祖所起的誓，他才用大能的手把你们领出来，把你们从为奴之家，从埃及王法老的手里拯救出来。

我就记念我与雅各所立的约，记念我与以撒所立的约，与亚伯拉罕所立的约；我也记念这地。

我必使你成为大国，赐福给你，使你的名为大，你也必使别人得福，
