因了這話、摩西就逃走，在米甸地做僑民。在那裏生了兩個兒子。

他叫駱駝跪在城外水井旁邊；那時正是天晚時分，眾女子出來打水的時候。

他一察看，只見田地裏有一口井；那裏有三羣羊躺在井旁；因為人都是將那井裏的水給羊羣喝；那井口上的石頭很大。

因着信、他離棄了埃及，不怕王的暴怒；因為他堅心持守，如同看見了人目所不能見的。

在那裏有雅各泉。耶穌因旅行勞累，就這樣坐在泉旁；那時約在中午十二點。

人在這城裏逼迫你們，你們要逃到別的城。我實在告訴你們，以色列的城市、你們還沒走完，人子就到了。

精明人一見災禍就躲藏；愚蠢人卻前往去受罰受害。

亞哈將以利亞所行的一切事、和他怎樣用刀殺死眾神言人的事、都告訴了耶洗別。耶洗別就差遣使者去見以利亞說：『明天大約這時候、我若不使你的性命像那些人的性命一樣，願神明這樣懲罰我，並且加倍地懲罰。』以利亞害怕，就起來逃命，到了猶大的別是巴，將僮僕留在那裏。

以利亞聽見，就用外衣蒙着臉，出來站在洞口；忽有聲音向他說：『以利亞啊，你在這裏作甚麼？』他說：『我為着永恆主萬軍之上帝大發妒愛熱情，因為以色列人撇棄了你的約，翻毁了你的祭壇，用刀殺死了你的神言人，只剩下我一個人，他們還想法子要我的命。』

約雅敬王和他的眾勇士眾首領聽見了烏利亞的話，王就想法子要治死他；烏利亞聽見就懼怕，逃往埃及。約雅敬王打發了人到埃及去，打發亞革波的兒子以利拿單、和幾個人跟着他往埃及去。這些人就從埃及將烏利亞帶出來，送到約雅敬王那裏；王就用刀擊殺了他，把他的屍體拋在平民的墳地。

基土拉給他生了心蘭、約珊、米但、米甸、伊施巴、和書亞。

以掃見以撒已經給雅各祝福，又打發他往巴旦亞蘭去、從那裏娶妻，並且給他祝福時吩咐他說：『不要娶迦南的女子為妻』；又見雅各聽從了他父親和母親，往巴旦亞蘭去了；

米甸的兒子是以法、以弗、哈諾、亞比大和以勒大。這些人都是基土拉的子孫。

永恆主在米甸對摩西說：『你去，回埃及去；因為那些尋索你命的人都死了。』
