「『現在，我們的上帝啊，你是至大、至能、至可畏、守約施慈愛的上帝；我們的君王、官長、祭司、先知、祖先和你的眾百姓，從亞述諸王的時候直到今日所遭遇的一切苦難，求你不要看為小事。

摩西從加低斯差遣使者到以東王那裏，說：「你的弟兄以色列這樣說：『你知道我們所遭遇的一切困難。

他拯救他們脫離恨他們之人的手，從仇敵手中救贖他們。

你在急難中呼求，我就搭救你，在雷的隱密處應允你，在米利巴水那裏考驗你。（細拉）

願耶和華救贖的百姓說這話，就是他從敵人手中所救贖，

他們不追念他手的能力，和他救贖他們脫離敵人的日子；他怎樣在埃及顯神蹟，在瑣安田顯奇事，

「『你曾看見我們祖先在埃及所受的困苦，垂聽他們在紅海邊的哀求，施行神蹟奇事在法老和他所有臣僕，以及他國中眾百姓身上，因為你知道他們向我們祖先行事狂傲。你也得了名聲，正如今日一樣。你在我們祖先面前把海分開，使他們走過海中乾地，將追趕他們的人拋在深海，如石頭拋在大水中。白晝你用雲柱引導他們，黑夜你用火柱照亮他們當行的路。你降臨在西奈山，從天上與他們說話，賜給他們正直的典章、真實的律法、美好的律例與誡命，又使他們知道你的聖安息日，並藉你僕人摩西傳給他們誡命、律例、律法。你從天上賜下糧食給他們充飢，使水從磐石流出給他們解渴。你吩咐他們進去，得你起誓應許要賜給他們的地。

耶和華啊，你的右手施展能力，大顯榮耀；耶和華啊，你的右手摔碎仇敵。

這一代要對那一代頌讚你的作為，他們要傳揚你的大能。他們要述說你威嚴榮耀的尊榮，我要默念你奇妙的作為。人要傳講你可畏的能力，我也要傳揚你的偉大。他們要將你可記念的大恩傳開，並要高唱你的公義。耶和華有恩惠，有憐憫，不輕易發怒，大有慈愛。耶和華善待萬有，他的憐憫覆庇他一切所造的。耶和華啊，你一切所造的都要稱謝你，你的聖民也要稱頌你。他們要傳講你國度的榮耀，談論你的大能，好讓世人知道你大能的作為和你國度威嚴的榮耀。

敬畏上帝的人哪，你們都來聽！我要述說他為我所做的事。

你們要稱謝耶和華，求告他的名，在萬民中傳揚他的作為！要向他唱詩，向他歌頌，述說他一切奇妙的作為！

以色列人對他們說：「我們寧願在埃及地死在耶和華手中！那時我們坐在肉鍋旁，吃餅得飽。你們卻將我們領出來，到這曠野，要叫這全會眾都餓死啊！」

若這年輕人不和我一起，我怎能上到我父親那裏呢？恐怕我要看到災禍臨到我父親了。」

摩西領以色列人從紅海起程，到了書珥的曠野，在曠野走了三天，找不到水。到了瑪拉，他們不能喝瑪拉的水，因為水是苦的；所以那地名叫瑪拉。百姓就向摩西發怨言，說：「我們喝甚麼呢？」

驚駭恐懼臨到他們；耶和華啊，因你膀臂的大能，他們如石頭寂靜不動，等候你百姓過去，等候你所贖的百姓過去。

上帝啊，自我年幼，你就教導我；直到如今，我傳揚你奇妙的作為。上帝啊，我年老髮白的時候，求你不要離棄我！等我宣揚你的能力給下一代，宣揚你的大能給後世的人。上帝啊，你的公義極高；行過大事的上帝啊，誰能像你？你是叫我多經歷重大急難的，必使我再活過來，從地的深處救我上來。

摩西的岳父，米甸祭司葉特羅，聽見上帝為摩西和為他百姓以色列所行的一切事，就是耶和華將以色列從埃及領了出來。
