人若有一百个儿子，并且长寿，但心中却从未得到满足，死后又不得安葬。唉！这样的人还不如流产的胎儿。

人若生一百个儿子，活许多岁数，以致他的年日甚多，心里却不得满享福乐，又不得埋葬；据我说，那不到期而落的胎比他倒好。

人苟生百子、享壽高、歷年久、而心不得享福、身不獲安葬、我謂未盈期而生者、較彼尤愈、

人有百子、又獲遐齡、生不能享福、死不得善葬、以我觀之、胎未成人者、較彼愈美。

設人生百子、又享遐齡、在世之年日甚多、而不得享所有以為福、死後亦不得安葬、以我觀之、以我觀之原文作我則曰胎死者較彼尤美、

A man may have a hundred children and live many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.

A man might have a hundred children. He might live a long time. But suppose he can’t enjoy his wealth. And suppose he isn’t buried in the proper way. Then it doesn’t matter how long he lives. I’m telling you that a baby that is born dead is better off than that man is.

If a man fathers a hundred children and lives many years, so that the days of his years are many, but his soul is not satisfied with life’s good things, and he also has no burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.

A man might have a hundred children and live to be very old. But if he finds no satisfaction in life and doesn’t even get a decent burial, it would have been better for him to be born dead.

为何我没有像未见天日就流产的婴儿一样消逝？

不过，比以上两种人更幸运的是那从未出生的人，他们从未见过日光之下各样的恶行。

你必像死驴一样被拖到耶路撒冷的城门外，暴尸荒野。”

他们出去埋葬她，却只找到她的头骨、手掌和脚，

雅各回答说：“我在世上寄居一百三十年了，我的日子又苦又短，不像我祖先那样高寿。”

只有你像一根毫无用处的树枝，被抛弃在自己的坟墓外。你就像一具遭人践踏的尸体，与丧身刀下的人一同被扔进乱石坑里。你必得不到君王的葬礼，因为你祸国殃民，杀害自己的百姓。“恶人的子孙必永远被遗忘。

以利祝福以利加拿和他妻子，对他说：“愿耶和华让你妻子再给你生儿育女，代替她求来并献给耶和华的孩子。”他们就回家去了。耶和华眷顾哈娜，她又生了三个儿子和两个女儿。年少的撒母耳在耶和华面前渐渐长大。

以扫看见跟在雅各后面的妇女和孩子，就问：“这些和你同行的是谁？”雅各说：“这些孩子是上帝施恩赐给你仆人的。”

王允准了，便在书珊城颁布谕旨，哈曼十个儿子的尸体便被吊了起来。亚达月十四日，书珊城的犹太人再次聚集起来，在城中杀了三百人，但没有动他们的财物。

抛散在他们昔日恋慕、供奉、追随、求问、祭拜的日月星辰之下，无人收殓和埋葬，他们好像地上的粪便。

亚哈在撒玛利亚有七十个子孙。耶户写信给那里的首领、长老以及亚哈子孙的监护人，说：

罗波安共有十八个妻子、六十个妾、二十八个儿子、六十个女儿。众妻妾中玛迦最得宠爱，

人子一定会受害，正如圣经上有关祂的记载，但出卖人子的人有祸了，他还不如不生在这世上！”

他一生活在黑暗中，饱受烦恼、病痛和愤怒的困扰。我认为人生最美最善的是，在上帝所赐的短暂岁月中尽情吃喝，享受自己在日光之下劳苦得来的成果。因为这是人当得的。上帝不单给人财富，也叫他能吃能喝，享用自己所当得的，并在劳碌中得到快乐，这都是上帝的恩赐。

愿他们像蜗牛一样溶为烂泥，又如流产的胎儿不见天日。

于是，哈曼被吊在他为末底改预备的木架上，王的怒气这才平息。

所以耶和华说，犹大王约雅敬啊，你的子孙没有一人能登大卫的宝座，你的尸体必被弃之荒野，遭受烈日的暴晒和夜霜的侵袭。

耶和华赐给我许多儿子，祂在我众子中拣选了所罗门，让他坐以色列的王位，治理耶和华的国。

人年轻时生的儿女犹如战士手中的箭。袋中装满了箭的人有福了！他们在城门与仇敌争论时，必不致蒙羞。

子孙是老人的华冠，父母是儿女的荣耀。

向他们夸耀自己的荣华富贵和儿孙满堂，以及王怎样擢升他，使他位极人臣。
