And I will say to myself,“ You have many goods stored up for many years to come; relax, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself!” ’But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your soul is demanded of you; and as for all that you have prepared, who will own it now?’

There was a man without a dependent, having neither a son nor a brother, yet there was no end to all his labor. Indeed, his eyes were not satisfied with riches, and he never asked,“ And for whom do I labor and deprive myself of pleasure?” This too is futility, and it is an unhappy task.

Then God said to Solomon,“ Because this was in your heart, and you did not ask for riches, wealth, or honor, or the life of those who hate you, nor did you even ask for long life, but you asked for yourself wisdom and knowledge so that you may rule My people over whom I have made you king,

A people whom you do not know will eat the produce of your ground and every product of your labor, and you will never be anything but oppressed and mistreated continually.

This also is a sickening evil: exactly as a person is born, so will he die. What then is the advantage for him who labors for the wind?

Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, Our houses to foreigners.

I have seen that every labor and every skill which is done is the result of rivalry between a person and his neighbor. This too is futility and striving after wind.

O king, the Most High God granted sovereignty, greatness, honor, and majesty to Nebuchadnezzar your father.

The stranger who is among you will rise above you higher and higher, and you will go down lower and lower.

When you enter, you will come to an unsuspecting people with a spacious land; for God has handed it over to you, a place where there is no lack of anything that is on the earth.”

Then he died at a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor; and his son Solomon reigned in his place.

I provided for myself male and female singers, and the pleasures of the sons of mankind: many concubines.Then I became great and increased more than all who preceded me in Jerusalem. My wisdom also stood by me.All that my eyes desired, I did not refuse them. I did not restrain my heart from any pleasure, for my heart was pleased because of all my labor; and this was my reward for all my labor.

For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of streams of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out in valleys and hills;a land of wheat and barley, of vines, fig trees, and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey;a land where you will eat food without shortage, in which you will not lack anything; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper.When you have eaten and are satisfied, you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you.

Certainly every person walks around as a fleeting shadow; They certainly make an uproar for nothing; He amasses riches and does not know who will gather them.

The Lord highly honored Solomon in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed on him royal majesty which had not been bestowed on any king before him in Israel.
