No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them.

No one remembers the people of long ago. Even those who haven’t been born yet won’t be remembered by those who will be born after them.

There is no remembrance of former things, nor will there be any remembrance of later things yet to be among those who come after.

We don’t remember what happened in the past, and in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now.

因為智慧人和愚昧人一樣，沒有人永遠記念他們，在未來的日子裡，都會被人遺忘。可歎智慧人跟愚昧人一樣，終必死亡。

活人還知道自己必死，死人卻一無所知，而且再得不到酬勞，他們也被遺忘。

看哪！先前預言過的事已經成就了，現在我說明新的事；它們還沒有發生以前，我就先說給你們聽了。”

仇敵的結局到了，他們遭毀滅，直到永遠；你拆毀他們的城鎮，使它們湮沒無聞。

讓它們前來告訴我們將要發生的事。以前的是甚麼事，讓它們告訴我們，好叫我們用心思想，得知事情的結局。或者向我們宣告那要來的事。把以後要來的事告訴我們，好叫我們知道你們是神；你們作這些事，或降福或降禍，以致我們彼此對望，一齊觀看。看哪！你們屬於無有，你們的作為都屬於虛空，那選擇你們的是可厭惡的。我從北方興起一人，他就來了；他從日出之地而來，呼求我的名；他必來踐踏掌權的，好像踐踏灰泥，又像陶匠踹泥一樣。誰從起初講說這事，使我們知道呢？誰從先前說明，以致我們說“他沒有錯”呢？誰也沒有說明，誰也沒有宣告，誰也沒有聽見你們的話！
