有甚麼事人可以說：“看啊！這是新的”？其實，很久之前已經有了，在我們之前早就有了。

Is there anything of which one can say,“ Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.

你們應該歡喜快樂，因為你們在天上的賞賜是大的；在你們以前的先知，他們也曾這樣迫害。

挪亞的時代怎樣，人子的時代也是怎樣。當時人們吃喝嫁娶，直到挪亞進入方舟的那一天，洪水來了，把他們全都滅掉。在羅得的時代也是這樣，人們吃喝買賣，耕種建造，直到羅得離開所多瑪的那一天，火與硫磺從天上降下來，把他們全都滅掉。人子顯現的日子也是這樣。

“你們頸項剛硬、心和耳都未受割禮的人哪！你們時常抗拒聖靈，你們的祖先怎樣，你們也怎樣。

並且說：‘我們若活在我們祖先的時代，決不會與他們一同流先知的血。’這樣，你們就指證自己是殺害先知的人的子孫了。那麼，去完成你們祖先的罪孽吧！

從前閻儡和閻悖怎樣反對摩西，這些人也怎樣反對真理。他們的心思敗壞，信仰也經不起考驗。

弟兄們，你們好像猶太地在基督耶穌裡神的眾教會一樣，他們怎樣遭受猶太人的迫害，你們也照樣遭受同族人的迫害。這些猶太人殺了主耶穌和眾先知，又把我們趕出來。他們得不到神的喜悅，並且和所有的人作對，阻撓我們向外族人傳道，不讓他們得救，以致惡貫滿盈。神的忿怒終必臨到他們身上。
