『永恆主你的上帝把這些國的人從你面前攆出以後、你心裏不可說：「永恆主將我領進來、取得這地、是因我的美德」；其實乃是因這些國的人的惡、永恆主才把他們從你面前趕出去呢。

“耶和华你的神将这些国民从你面前撵出以后，你心里不可说：‘耶和华将我领进来得这地是因我的义。’其实，耶和华将他们从你面前赶出去是因他们的恶。

“耶和华—你的上帝将他们从你面前赶出以后，你心里不可说：‘耶和华领我得这地是因我的义。’其实，耶和华将这些国家从你面前赶出去是因他们的恶。

“耶和华—你的神将他们从你面前赶出以后，你心里不可说：‘耶和华领我得这地是因我的义。’其实，耶和华将这些国家从你面前赶出去是因他们的恶。

“你们的上帝耶和华赶走他们以后，你们不要以为耶和华带领你们占领那片土地是因为你们公义，其实是因为那里的民族邪恶，耶和华才将他们从你们面前赶走。

耶和华你的神把这些国的民从你面前驱逐出去以后，你心里不要说：‘耶和华把我领进来取得这地，是因着我的义。’其实耶和华从你面前把这些国的民赶出去，是因着他们的恶。

「你們的上帝耶和華趕走他們以後，你們不要以為耶和華帶領你們佔領那片土地是因為你們公義，其實是因為那裡的民族邪惡，耶和華才將他們從你們面前趕走。

爾上帝耶和華既驅逐之、爾勿意謂因我有義、故耶和華導我入據斯土、實因斯族之惡、而驅逐之、

既驅之後、爾勿意謂我儕有義、故耶和華使得斯土、實因斯民行惡、故耶和華驅於爾前。

主爾之天主、既逐之於爾前、爾勿意謂主導我得斯地乃因我善、實因斯民之惡、主逐之於爾前、

After the Lord your God has driven them out before you, do not say to yourself,“ The Lord has brought me here to take possession of this land because of my righteousness.” No, it is on account of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is going to drive them out before you.

The Lord your God will drive them out to make room for you. When he does, don’t say to yourself,“ The Lord has done it because I am godly. That’s why he brought me here to take over this land.” That isn’t true. The Lord is going to drive out those nations to make room for you because they are very evil.

“ Do not say in your heart, after the Lord your God has thrust them out before you,‘ It is because of my righteousness that the Lord has brought me in to possess this land,’ whereas it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out before you.

“ After the Lord your God has done this for you, don’t say in your hearts,‘ The Lord has given us this land because we are such good people!’ No, it is because of the wickedness of the other nations that he is pushing them out of your way.

When the LORD your God drives them out before you, do not say to yourself,‘ The LORD brought me in to take possession of this land because of my righteousness.’ Instead, the LORD will drive out these nations before you because of their wickedness.

“ Do not say in your heart when the Lord your God has driven them away from you,‘ Because of my righteousness the Lord has brought me in to take possession of this land.’ Rather, it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is dispossessing them before you.

“ Do not think in your heart, after the Lord your God has cast them out before you, saying,‘ Because of my righteousness the Lord has brought me in to possess this land’; but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out from before you.

Speak not thou in thy heart, after that Jehovah thy God hath thrust them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness Jehovah hath brought me in to possess this land; whereas for the wickedness of these nations Jehovah doth drive them out from before thee.

When the Lord your God drives them out before you, do not say to yourself,‘ The Lord brought me in to take possession of this land because of my righteousness.’ Instead, the Lord will drive out these nations before you because of their wickedness.

Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from before thee.

Do not think to yourself after the LORD your God has driven them out before you,“ Because of my own righteousness the LORD has brought me here to possess this land.” It is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out ahead of you.

Don’t say in your heart, after Yahweh your God has thrust them out from before you,“ For my righteousness Yahweh has brought me in to possess this land;” because Yahweh drives them out before you because of the wickedness of these nations.

恐怕你富足了，你心裏就說：「這資財是我的力量我手的力氣給我得來的。」

『你到了永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的地那時候，不可仿傚那些外國人可厭惡的事去學着行。在你中間不可有人將兒子或女兒用火燒獻為祭，也不可有占卜的、算命的、觀兆頭的、行邪術的、用迷術的、問交鬼的、行巫術的、過陰的。因為凡行這些事的、都是永恆主所憎惡的；也正是因了這些可厭惡之事的緣故，永恆主你的上帝才把他們從你面前趕出。你對於永恆主你的上帝要純全無疵。你正要趕出的那些外國人都聽信算命的、占卜的；至於你呢，永恆主你的上帝是不曾許給你這樣行的。

『不可因這些事的任一樣而蒙不潔，因為我從你們面前所趕走的外國人、就是在這一切事上蒙不潔的。連地也蒙不潔呢，所以我向那地察罰它的罪愆，那地就把它的居民吐出。故此你們要守我的律例和典章；這一切可厭惡的事、無論是本地人、是在你們中間寄居的外僑、都不可作，（因為這一切可厭惡的事、在你們以前那地的人都行了，而地就蒙了不潔；）免得你們使那地蒙不潔時、地就把你們吐出，像吐出你們以前的列國人一樣。因為凡作這些可厭惡之事的任一樣的、無論何人都必須從他們族人中被剪除。所以你們要守我所吩咐守的，免得你們實行這些可厭惡的規例、就是你們以前的人所作的、因而蒙了不潔；我永恆主是你們的上帝。』

永恆主傾心於你們，揀選你們，並不是因為你們比任何別族之民多（你們在萬族之民中原是最少的）；乃是因為永恆主愛你們，他是在守着他向你們列祖所起的誓，他才用大力的手把你們領出來，把你們從為奴之家贖救出來、脫離埃及王法老的手。

你向永恆主你的上帝可不要這樣行，因為他們向他們的神行了永恆主所恨惡一切可厭惡的事，甚至將他們的兒女燒在火中、去獻給他們的神。

你進去取得他們的地、並不是因你的美德，也不是因你心裏的正直，乃是因這些國的人的惡，永恆主你的上帝才把他們從你面前趕出，又是因永恆主要實行他向你列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各、所起誓的話。

我良知上雖不覺得有甚麼可以自責的地方，我卻不因此就被斷為無罪。審斷我的乃是主。

既是按着恩典，就不是由於行為了；不然，恩典就不再是恩典了。

因為我們從前也是無知、悖逆、受了迷惑，做各種私慾和宴樂的奴僕，在惡毒和嫉妒中度生活，滿有恨心，彼此相恨。但是我們的拯救者上帝的慈惠和仁慈顯現的時候，他救了我們，不是由於我們所行的有甚麼本於義的行為，乃是按照他的憐憫，藉着再生之洗和聖靈之更新力。

上帝救了我們，以奉獻為聖之號召召喚我們，不是按着我們的行為，乃是按着他的定旨和恩惠，就是歷時歷世以前在基督耶穌裏所賜給我們，

主永恆主發神諭說：我這樣行、並不是為了你們的緣故，這是你們要知道的；以色列家啊，你們倒要為你們自己的行徑、而抱愧蒙羞呢。

到了第四代，他們必回到此地來，因為亞摩利人的罪孽還沒有貫滿。』

然而上帝富於憐憫，因他愛我們的盛愛，竟在我們因過犯而死的時候、使我們和基督同活（你們得了救、就是靠着恩）。

誰使你跟別人有分別呢？你有甚麼不是領受的呢？既也是領受的，為甚麼誇口、好像不是領受的呢？

『為此你要對以色列家說：主永恆主這麼說：以色列家啊，我將要行事、並不是為了你們，乃是為了我自己的聖名，就是在你們所去到的列國中你們所使它被褻瀆的。

不錯，他們猶太人因了不信的心才被折下；你因了信心才立得住。別存着高傲思想了，卻要有畏懼的心。
