我因永恆主向你們大發烈怒、要消滅你們、就很懼怕；但那一次永恆主也聽了我。

I feared the anger and wrath of the Lord, for he was angry enough with you to destroy you. But again the Lord listened to me.

I was afraid of the Lord’ s great anger. He was so angry with you he wanted to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me again.

For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure that the Lord bore against you, so that he was ready to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me that time also.

I feared that the furious anger of the Lord, which turned him against you, would drive him to destroy you. But again he listened to me.

I was afraid of the fierce anger the LORD had directed against you, because he was about to destroy you. But again the LORD listened to me on that occasion.

『我又像先前那樣在山上住了四十晝又四十夜；那一次永恆主也聽了我；他不情願將你毁滅。

於是永恆主就改變心意不降災禍，就是他說、要向他人民施行的。

所以你們要彼此認罪，互相代禱，使你們得醫治，義人竭力的祈求是大有功效的。以利亞是和我們同樣性質的人；他懇切禱告，求別下雨，雨就三年零六個月沒有下在地上。

你且由着我；讓我發烈怒，將他們滅盡；你呢、我要使你成為大國。』摩西便求永恆主他的上帝的情面，說：『永恆主啊，你為甚麼向你的人民發怒呢？這人民是你用大能用大力的手從埃及地領出來的呀！

在他的祭司中有摩西和亞倫；在呼求他名的人之中有撒母耳，他們呼求永恆主，他就應了他們。

永恆主對摩西說：『你所說的這件事、正是我所要作的；因為你在我面前蒙了恩，我也按你的名認識了你。』

當蝗蟲幾乎將要喫盡了那地底青物時，我就說：『主永恆主啊，請赦免哦！雅各怎能站立得住呢？他是這麼微小啊。』永恆主對這事改變了心意；主永恆主就說：『這事不發生啦。』

那時有我的一個弟兄哈拿尼同幾個猶大的人來；我問他、那些逃脫的猶大人、那些沒有被擄的餘民、怎麼樣，耶路撒冷怎麼樣。他們對我說：『那些沒有被擄的餘民在猶大省那裏遭大患難，受凌辱；耶路撒冷的城牆拆了破口，城門又被火焚燒。』我聽見了這些話，就坐下來哭，悲哀了幾天；在天上的上帝面前禁食祈禱，說：『哦，永恆主天上的上帝、至有權勢、至大、至可畏懼的啊，那向愛你守你誡命的人守約施堅愛的啊。我願你的眼睜開着，你的耳傾聽着，來聽你僕人的祈禱、就是我今天、乃至於晝夜、在你面前、為你僕人、以色列人、所禱告的，又為以色列人、我們向你所犯的罪；我和我父的家所犯的罪，所向你承認的。我們向你行了很腐敗的事，沒有遵守你僕人摩西所吩咐的誡命、律例、和典章。

我就說：『主永恆主啊，請停止哦！雅各怎能站立得住呢？他是這麼微小啊。』永恆主對這事改變了心意；主永恆主就說：『這事也不發生啦。』

我向你們做我朋友的說，對那殺身體、以後再沒有甚麼可作的、你們不要怕。我要指示你們應當怕誰：你們要怕那把你們殺了以後、又有權柄把你們丟在地獄裏的；實在的、我告訴你們，你們要怕這一位。

故此他說要消滅他們；若非有他所揀選的摩西當決裂之時站在他面前，使他的烈怒轉消，避免施行殺滅，他們早已滅亡了。

在何烈山你們又惹了永恆主的震怒，以致他向你們發怒、要消滅你們。
