He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock.

He led you through that huge and terrible desert. It was a dry land. It didn’t have any water. It had poisonous snakes and scorpions. The Lord gave you water out of solid rock.

於是永恆主打發火蛇進入人民中間，蛇咬了人民，以色列中就死了許多人。

摩西舉手，用手杖把磐石擊打了兩下，就有許多水流了出來，會眾和他們的牲口都喝了。

『我們從何烈往前行，走遍你們所看見那大而可怕的曠野，照永恆主我們的上帝所吩咐我們的、按到亞摩利人山地的路向而行；我們就到達了加低斯巴尼亞。

他們也不追問說：「那領我們從埃及地上來，引導我們經過曠野，經過原野有深坑之地，乾旱漆黑之地，無人經過、無人居住之地的永恆主在哪裏呢？」

在曠野是我同你知交，在亢旱之地是我牧養了你。

那使他榮美的膀臂在摩西的右手邊行動、在他們面前將水分開、使他們走過深洋、來為他自己立個永遠之名的、在哪裏呢？像馬在曠野裏，他們未曾絆跌；永恆主的靈帶領了他們；像牲口下峽谷；你也這樣引導了你的人民，來為你自己立個榮美的名。

在曠野他使磐石裂開，多多給他們喝，如喝深淵的水。他使河流從磐石上瀉出，叫水如江河下流。

『永恆主使以色列乘駕地之山丘，使他得喫田間的果品；又使他從磐石中咂蜜，從硬碞石中吸油。

也都喝了一樣的靈飲，從隨行着的屬靈磐石上喝的：那磐石就是上帝所膏立者基督。

浮光的熱沙地必變為池塘，乾渴之地必化為水泉；野狗的居所必變為池沼，鴕鳥的院落必滿有蘆荻和蒲草。

他打開了磐石，水就湧出；在乾旱之處水流成河。

要稱謝那引領自己的人民走過曠野的，因為他堅固的愛永遠長存；

永恆主對摩西說：『你為首在人民前頭走過去，帶着以色列幾個長老和你一同去；手裏要拿着你先前擊打河水的手杖而去。看吧，我必站在你前面，在何烈磐石那裏；你要擊打磐石，就有水從磐石裏出來，讓人民喝。』摩西就在以色列長老眼前這樣行了。
