Now then, why should we die? For this great fire will consume us; if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer, then we will die!

然我恐此大火燬我、何必冒死、如我再聞主我天主之聲、則必死亡、

But now, why should we die? This great fire will consume us, and we will die if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer.

But if the ministry of death, engraved in letters on stones, came with glory so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was,how will the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory?For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness excel in glory.

for our God is a consuming fire.

Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? Far from it! For if a law had been given that was able to impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been based on law.But the Scripture has confined everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

For all who are of works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written:“ Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all the things written in the book of the Law, to do them.”
