According to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit.But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those of them whom you let remain shall be as barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall trouble you in the land where you dwell.And I will do to you as I thought to do to them.”

But the Lord your God will give them over to you and throw them into great confusion, until they are destroyed.And he will give their kings into your hand, and you shall make their name perish from under heaven. No one shall be able to stand against you until you have destroyed them.The carved images of their gods you shall burn with fire.
