往奉事叩拜異邦之神、即素所不識之神、主未嘗命彼奉事者、

去侍奉敬拜素不认识的别神，是耶和华所未曾给他们安排的。

去事奉别神，敬拜他们所不认识的神明，这是耶和华未曾允许的。

去供奉、祭拜他们所不认识、并非耶和华所分派的神明。

去事奉别的神，向他们叩拜，就是他们不认识的神，也是耶和华没有给他们指定要拜的神；

They went off and worshiped other gods and bowed down to them, gods they did not know, gods he had not given them.

曰、猶大王、耶路撒冷之居民、當聽主之言、萬有之主以色列之天主如是云、我必降災於斯地、凡聽之者、必震其耳、因彼違棄我、視斯地若異邦、在此焚香於他神、即彼與其列祖、及猶大列王所未識之神、亦於斯地徧殺無辜、亦於斯地徧殺無辜原文作以無辜之血盈於此所為巴力築邱壇、以火焚子、獻於巴力為火焚祭、此非我所命、非我所諭、此意未起於我心、緣此主云、時日將至、斯處不復稱為陀斐特便欣嫩谷、必稱為殺戮谷、我在斯地、必使猶大人及耶路撒冷人之謀、皆虛而無成、使彼之敵與索其命者、以刃殺戮、使其屍骸、為空中鳥、地上獸所食、我必使此邑、令人驚異、令人驚異或作變為荒蕪為人所恥笑、經過之人、必因其諸災、驚異恥笑、其敵與索其命者、環而攻之、勢甚危迫、我使其食子女之肉、亦使其彼此相食、爾言竟、當毀瓶在同行之人目前、告之曰、萬有之主如是云、我必毀此民與此邑、如毀陶人之器、不能復完、死者既眾、無地可埋、必埋於陀斐特、主曰、我必待斯地與其居民如是、必使斯邑如陀斐特然、耶路撒冷宅第、猶大王之宮殿、必見污穢、如陀斐特、因彼在屋之平頂、焚香於天上萬象、奠酒於他神、

棄主其列祖之天主、導之出伊及者、信從叩拜他神、即其四圍列族之神、干犯主怒、棄主而事巴力及亞斯他錄、

斯民選擇新神、戰遂及於邑門、以色列四萬人中、不見干與戈、

萬有之主以色列之天主如是云、我已降災於耶路撒冷、及猶大諸邑、今日俱荒蕪、無人居處、爾所目睹、皆因居民作惡、干犯我怒、焚香於他神而服事之、即彼與爾及爾列祖所未識之神、我屢屢原文作每晨遣我僕眾先知警教之云、此可憎之事、我所憾者、爾勿行之、惟彼不聽、不傾耳以聽、不改惡行、仍焚香於他神、故我之盛忿烈怒、震發如焚、傾洩於猶大諸邑、及耶路撒冷街衢、使之傾圮荒蕪、有如今日之景象、

此因以色列人獲罪於主其天主、天主昔導之出伊及、脫於伊及王法老之手、彼反敬畏他神、昔主於以色列人前、逐異族之民、以色列人乃從其習俗、亦從以色列王擅設之陋規、以色列人私行非法、背逆主其天主、自戍樓以及鞏固之城、各處建築邱壇、在各高岡上、各茂樹下、立柱像與亞舍拉、亞舍拉或作木偶在諸邱壇上焚香、效主在其前所逐異族之民、行諸惡事、干犯主怒、主曾禁之曰、勿拜偶像、而彼反拜之、主藉諸先知與諸先見、警戒以色列人及猶大人曰、當棄惡行、守我誡命法度、循我所命爾列祖、又藉我僕眾先知授爾之律法、斯民不聽、強項不馴、不信主其天主、與其列祖無異、違棄主之律例、及主與其列祖所立之約、並主警戒之言、從虛無之神、行虛妄之事、主命之勿效四周異邦人所為、彼反從之、棄主其天主之一切誡命、鎔鑄二犢、立亞舍拉、亞舍拉或作木偶崇拜天之萬象、奉事巴力、焚獻子女、原文作使其子女過於火用邪術、信卜筮、專行惡於主前、干犯其怒、主甚怒以色列人、逐於其前、所留者惟猶大一支派而已、

主將散爾於萬國中、自地之此極、至地之彼極、在彼必事異邦之神、木石所作、即爾與爾祖所未識者、

行惡於主前、先知耶利米以主命勸之、彼仍不自卑、尼布甲尼撒王使其指天主而誓、必永臣服、乃叛之、強項不馴、剛愎厥心、不歸主以色列之天主、諸祭司長與民眾亦多犯罪、效異邦人可憎之事、在耶路撒冷主之殿、主所別為聖者、彼反污之、主其列祖之天主因憐其民、惜其居所、日日日日原文作每晨遣使者訓誨之、彼訕笑天主之使者、藐視其言、侮辱侮辱或作譏諷其先知、故主震怒其民、不復援之、使迦勒底王來攻之、在聖殿中、以刃戮諸壯士、不恤幼男少女、老人白叟、主俱付於其手、
