Do not provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land, not even enough to put your foot on. I have given Esau the hill country of Seir as his own.

又把雅各和以掃賜給以撒，將西珥山賜給以掃去取為基業；而雅各和他子孫則下了埃及去。

於是以掃就住在西珥山。以掃就是以東。

你必被趕逐離開人類，你的住處必同山野的走獸在一起；你必受迫而喫草如牛，經過七個時期，等到你承認至高者在人國中掌權，他喜歡將國賜給誰，就賜給誰。』

至高者將地業分給列國，將人類分開，就按神子的數目立了萬族之民的境界。

說你必被趕逐、離開人類，你的住處必同山野的走獸在一起；你必受迫而喫草如牛，被天露滴濕，經過七個時期；等到你承認至高者在人國中掌權，他喜歡將國賜給誰、就賜給誰。

他從一本造了萬國的人住在全地上，又立定安排好了的時期和他們居處的疆界，

『是我用大能力和伸出的膀臂造了大地和地面上的人及牲口；我看誰適當，就把地給誰。

現在你看這些亞捫人、摩押人和西珥山人：這幾族人就是：從前以色列人從埃及地出來時、你不讓以色列人侵犯他們的；當時以色列人就轉一邊離開了他們。不除滅他們。現在你看，他們怎樣報復了我們：要來趕逐我們離開你的基業、就是你使我們取得的地。我們的上帝啊，你不懲罰他們麼？我們實在沒有力量對抗這來攻打我們的、這許多蜂擁軍兵；我們也不知道該怎樣行；我們的眼單單望着你。』

在這裏，上帝並沒有給他產業，連立足之地也沒有給；只應許將這地給他、和他以後的苗裔為基業，雖則那時他沒有孩子！
