從廢除日常獻的祭、設立帶來毀滅的可憎之物算起，必經過一千二百九十天。

從廢除常獻祭，並設立那使地荒涼的可憎的像的時候起，必有一千二百九十天。

自去日獻之祭、置殘賊可惡之物時、必歷一千二百九十日、

他要興兵，這兵必褻瀆聖所，就是堡壘，除掉經常獻的祭，設立那施行毀滅的可憎之物。

在一七之期，他必與許多人堅立盟約；一七之半，他必使獻祭與供獻止息。那施行毀滅的可憎之物必立在聖殿裏，直到所定的結局傾倒在那行毀滅者的身上。」

「當你們看見先知但以理所說的那『施行毀滅的褻瀆者』站在聖地（讀這經的人要會意），

「當你們看見那『施行毀滅的褻瀆者』站在不當站的地方（讀這經的人要會意），那時，在猶太的，應當逃到山上；

只是殿外的院子不用量，因為這是要給外邦人的；他們將踐踏聖城四十二個月。

龍又賜給那隻獸說誇大褻瀆話的口，又賜給牠權柄可以任意行事四十二個月。

他說話抵擋至高者，折磨至高者的眾聖者，又改變節期和律法。眾聖者要交在他手中一年、兩年、又半年。

所說二千三百日的異象是真的，但你要將這異象封住，因為它關乎未來許多的日子。」

牠自高自大，自以為高及萬象之君，牠除掉經常獻給君的祭，毀壞君的聖所。因罪過的緣故，有軍隊和經常獻的祭交給牠。牠把真理拋在地上，任意而行，無往不利。我聽見有一位聖者說話，又有一位聖者向那說話的聖者說：「這經常獻的祭、帶來荒涼的罪過、聖所與軍隊被踐踏的異象，要持續到幾時呢？」他對我說：「要到二千三百日，聖所就必潔淨。」

婦人就逃到曠野，在那裏有上帝給她預備的地方，使她在那裏被供養一千二百六十天。
