Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I am completing in my flesh what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for His body, that is, the church.

Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.

I am happy because of what I am suffering for you. My suffering joins with and continues the sufferings of Christ. I suffer for his body, which is the church.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church,

I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for his body, the church.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I fill up in my physical body– for the sake of his body, the church– what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly,

And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,

So don’t be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, or of me His prisoner. Instead, share in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power of God.

I have great confidence in you; I have great pride in you. I am filled with encouragement; I am overcome with joy in all our afflictions.

My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,

For as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so through Christ our comfort also overflows.If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is experienced in your endurance of the same sufferings that we suffer.And our hope for you is firm, because we know that as you share in the sufferings, so you will share in the comfort.For we don’t want you to be unaware, brothers, of our affliction that took place in Asia: we were completely overwhelmed— beyond our strength— so that we even despaired of life.

He is also the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He might come to have first place in everything.

So then I ask you not to be discouraged over my afflictions on your behalf, for they are your glory.

I suffer for it to the point of being bound like a criminal, but God’s message is not bound.This is why I endure all things for the elect: so that they also may obtain salvation, which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials,

“ You are blessed when they insult and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of Me.Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Then they went out from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the Name.

But even if I am poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.In the same way you should also be glad and rejoice with me.

For this reason, I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles—

Are they servants of Christ? I’m talking like a madman— I’m a better one: with far more labors, many more imprisonments, far worse beatings, near death many times.Five times I received 39 lashes from Jews.Three times I was beaten with rods by the Romans. Once I was stoned by my enemies. Three times I was shipwrecked. I have spent a night and a day in the open sea.On frequent journeys, I faced dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my own people, dangers from the Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the open country, dangers on the sea, and dangers among false brothers;labor and hardship, many sleepless nights, hunger and thirst, often without food, cold, and lacking clothing.

We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair;we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.For we who live are always given over to death because of Jesus, so that Jesus’ life may also be revealed in our mortal flesh.So death works in us, but life in you.

which is His body, the fullness of the One who fills all things in every way.
