這些人溜進別人家裡，哄騙那些意志薄弱的婦女。那些婦女心中充滿罪惡，受各種邪情私慾的驅使，雖然常常學習，卻不能明白真理。

這該怎麼說呢？以色列人努力追求，卻一無所得，只有蒙揀選的人得到了，其他的人都變得頑固不化。正如聖經上說：「上帝使他們至今心智昏迷，眼睛看不見，耳朵聽不到。」大衛也說：「願他們的宴席成為網羅、陷阱、絆腳石，給他們帶來報應；願他們眼目昏暗，無法看見，永遠彎腰駝背。」

以色列人靠遵行律法追求義，卻徒勞無功。為什麼會這樣呢？因為他們不憑信心，只靠自己的行為去追求義，結果就在那塊「絆腳石」上跌倒了。正如聖經上說：「看啊！我在錫安放了一塊絆腳石，一塊使人跌倒的磐石。但信靠祂的人必不致蒙羞。」

嘲諷者徒然尋智慧，明哲人輕易得知識。

「不與我為友就是與我為敵；不助我召集就是故意拆散。

那時，耶穌說：「父啊，天地的主，我頌讚你，因為你把這些事向聰明、有學問的人隱藏起來，卻啟示給像孩童一般的人。父啊，是的，這正是你的美意。我父將一切交給了我。除了父，沒有人認識子；除了子和受子啟示的人，沒有人認識父。

但以理啊，這些話要保密，要把這書封起來，直到末了。許多人必四處探究，因而知識必增多。」

你們至今仍把自己的兒子燒作祭物獻給偶像，玷污自己嗎？以色列人啊，我會讓你們求問嗎？主耶和華說，我憑我的永恆起誓，我決不讓你們求問。

「人子啊，你要告訴他們，主耶和華這樣說，『你們是來求問我嗎？我憑我的永恆起誓，我決不讓你們求問。』
