Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent a message to Jeroboam king of Israel:“ Amos is raising a conspiracy against you in the very heart of Israel. The land cannot bear all his words.

Amaziah was priest of Bethel. He sent a message to Jeroboam, the king of Israel. He said,“ Amos is making evil plans against you right here in Israel. The people in the land can’t stand to listen to what he’s saying.

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying,“ Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words.

Then Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent a message to Jeroboam, king of Israel:“ Amos is hatching a plot against you right here on your very doorstep! What he is saying is intolerable.

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying,“ Amos has conspired against you in the middle of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words.

这几位官长就对西底迦王说：“求你处死这人！因为他的话令这城的军民士气低落。这人不为人民着想，反要害他们。”

耶利米传达完耶和华的话之后，祭司、先知和民众就抓住他，说：“你真该死！你为什么奉耶和华的名预言这殿必像示罗一样被毁，这城必要荒无人烟呢？”于是，他们在耶和华的殿里把耶利米围了起来。犹大的首领得知后，就离开王宫，上到耶和华的殿，坐在耶和华殿新门的入口。祭司和先知对官员和民众说：“这人该被处死！因为他预言这城要被毁，这是你们亲耳听到的。”

耶罗波安又在高岗上修建神庙，任命各样的人做祭司，他们并非利未人。耶罗波安规定每年八月十五日为节期，好像犹大的节期一样。他自己在伯特利的祭坛上向金牛犊献祭烧香，又派神庙的祭司在献祭中司职。

犹大王亚玛谢执政第十五年，以色列王约阿施的儿子耶罗波安在撒玛利亚登基，执政四十一年。他做耶和华视为恶的事，没有离开尼八的儿子耶罗波安使以色列人犯的那些罪。

这事以后，耶罗波安没有改邪归正，他任命各种人做丘坛的祭司，不管谁想做祭司，他都封立他们。

‘耶和华已立你为祭司代替耶何耶大，管理耶和华的殿，负责拘捕妄自发预言的狂人，给他们戴上铁链枷锁。现在，亚拿突人耶利米在你们当中自称为先知，你为什么不斥责他呢？

众人听了这番话，怒火中烧，咬牙切齿。

当耶利米先知来到便雅悯门时，哈拿尼亚的孙子、示利米雅的儿子守门官伊利雅逮捕了他，说：“你想去投奔迦勒底人！”耶利米说：“不，我不是去投奔迦勒底人。”但伊利雅不信，把他押到众官长那里。官长们大怒，命人鞭打耶利米，把他囚禁在书记约拿单的房子里，因为他们已把这房子改作监牢。

指控祂说：“这人蛊惑民心，禁止百姓向凯撒纳税，又说自己是基督，是君王。”

音麦的儿子巴施户珥祭司在耶和华的殿中做总管。他听见耶利米预言这些事，便下令殴打耶利米先知，把他囚禁在耶和华殿的便雅悯上门处。第二天，他释放了耶利米，耶利米对他说：“耶和华不再叫你巴施户珥，要叫你玛歌珥·米撒毕。

耶稣进了圣殿，正在教导人的时候，祭司长和民间的长老来质问祂：“你凭什么权柄做这些事？谁授权给你了？”

我们发现这个人惹事生非，到处煽动犹太人闹事。他是拿撒勒教派的一个头目，

他们说：“来！我们设计对付耶利米吧，反正我们有祭司教导律法，有智者出谋划策，有先知传讲预言。来吧！我们抨击他，不要理会他的话。”

“我们不是严禁你们奉耶稣的名去教导百姓吗？你们竟然在耶路撒冷各处传道，还想把杀那人的血债归到我们身上！”

见到以利亚后，就说：“给以色列带来灾祸的就是你吗？”

“现在你们仗着人多势众，又有耶罗波安制造的金牛犊作为你们的神明，便企图反抗大卫子孙所治理的耶和华的国度。你们赶走了做耶和华祭司的亚伦之后裔和利未人，效法外族人的恶俗为自己设立祭司。任何人牵来一头公牛犊和七只公绵羊，就可以自封为假神的祭司。

他的哥哥们回答说：“难道你真想做我们的王统治我们吗？”他们因约瑟的梦和他说的话而更恨他。
