Go to Kalneh and look at it; go from there to great Hamath, and then go down to Gath in Philistia. Are they better off than your two kingdoms? Is their land larger than yours?

Go and look at the city of Kalneh. Go from there to the great city of Hamath. Then go down to Gath in Philistia. Are those places better off than your two kingdoms? Is their land larger than yours?

Pass over to Calneh, and see, and from there go to Hamath the great; then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are you better than these kingdoms? Or is their territory greater than your territory,

But go over to Calneh and see what happened there. Then go to the great city of Hamath and down to the Philistine city of Gath. You are no better than they were, and look at how they were destroyed.

Cross over to Calneh and see; go from there to great Hamath; then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are you better than these kingdoms? Is their territory larger than yours?

They say to the people:“ Journey over to Calneh and look at it! Then go from there to Hamath-Rabbah! Then go down to Gath of the Philistines! Are they superior to our two kingdoms? Is their territory larger than yours?”

你哪能比挪亞們強呢？挪亞們坐落在尼羅河流之間，周圍有水；海做她的外郭水做她的城牆？

他開國的主要成分是巴別、以力、亞甲，都在示拿地。

哈馬亞珥拔的神在哪裏呢？西法瓦音希奪以瓦的神在哪裏呢？他們何曾援救過撒瑪利亞脫離我的手呢？

他出去攻打非利士人，將迦特的城牆、雅比尼的城牆、和亞實突的城牆都拆了破口；又在亞實突境內、非利士人中間建造了幾座城。

從非利士營中出來了一個挑戰的人、名叫歌利亞，是迦特人，身高六肘零一虎口。

迦勒挪豈不像迦基米施麼？哈瑪豈不像亞珥拔麼？撒瑪利亞豈不像大馬色麼？我的手既抓到這些偶相之國，就是有雕像勝過耶路撒冷和撒瑪利亞的之雕像的，難道我不能辦耶路撒冷和她的偶像，正如我辦撒瑪利亞和她的偶相麼？』

免得希西家教唆你們說：『永恆主一定會援救我們。』列國的神有哪一位曾援救過他的本地脫離亞述王的手呢？哈馬亞珥拔的神在哪裏？西法瓦音的神在哪裏？他們何曾援救過撒瑪利亞脫離我的手呢？

他正和他們說話的時候，只見那討戰的人、屬迦特的非利士人、名叫歌利亞的、從非利士人陣上上來了；他直說着從前說的那些話，大衛都聽見了。

亞述王從巴比倫、古他、亞瓦、哈馬、和西法瓦音設法使人來住在撒瑪利亞的各城、以代替以色列人；他們就得了撒瑪利亞以為業，而住在它的各城市。

巴比倫人造疏割比訥像；古他人造匿甲像；哈馬人造亞示瑪像；

你們且過去到基提那些海島去察看，打發人往基達去細心考察，看曾有這樣的事沒有。哪有一國換了他們的神呢？其實那些並不是神；但我的人民卻將他們的榮耀換了那無益的神。

『人子啊，你要向埃及王法老和他的眾民說：『論你的昌大、誰能跟你相比呢？看哪，我要將你比作利巴嫩中的香柏樹，枝條美麗，成蔭之林，樹身高大，樹梢挺立於雲霄間。

哈馬的王、亞珥拔的王、西法瓦音城的王、希奪以瓦的王都在哪裏呢？」』

那時所羅門和以色列眾人同他在一起、從哈馬口直到埃及谿谷、一羣很大的大眾、都在永恆主我們的上帝面前過了節七天、又七天、共十四天。

我列祖所毁滅的國：歌散、哈蘭、利色、和在提拉撒的伊甸人；這些國的神何曾援救過它們呢？哈馬的王、亞珥拔的王、西法瓦音城的王、希拿以瓦的王都在哪裏呢？」』
