照着神的旨意做基督耶稣使徒的保罗，以及弟兄提摩太，致那在哥林多属神的教会，以及在全亚该亚省所有的圣徒：

要知道，我父的旨意正是：所有看见子而信他的人都得到永恒的生命，并且在末日，我将要使他复活。”

这奥秘就是：外邦人在基督耶稣里，藉着福音，成为共同的继承人，同属一体、同蒙应许。

这是基于那永恒生命的盼望，而这盼望是那不撒谎的神在亘古以前所应许的。

为此，基督做了新约的中保，藉着死赎清了人在第一个约之下的过犯，好使那些蒙召的人可以得到所应许的永恒继业。

你们查考经文，因你们以为从中可以得到永恒的生命。其实这经文就是为我做见证的。可是你们不肯到我这里来得生命。

认识你——独一的真神，并认识你所差派的耶稣基督，这就是永恒的生命。

吃我肉、喝我血的人，就有永恒的生命，在末日我还要使他复活；

主耶稣神性的大能，因我们真正认识以自己的荣耀和美德召唤我们的那一位，就把一切有关生命和敬神的事都赐给了我们。藉着这荣耀和美德，他把那些又宝贵又极大的应许赐给了我们，好使你们能藉着这些应许，逃脱世上因欲望而来的衰朽，成为在神的本性上有份的人。

并且我赐给他们永恒的生命，他们绝不会灭亡，直到永远。谁也不能把他们从我手中夺走。

照着神的旨意蒙召做基督耶稣使徒的保罗，以及弟兄索提尼，

这样，就像罪藉着死亡掌权，恩典也照样藉着义掌权，使人藉着我们的主耶稣基督进入永恒的生命。

“我确确实实地告诉你们：谁听我的话，又相信派我来的那一位，谁就有永恒的生命。他不但不被定罪，而且已经出死入生了。

这就是那应许，是他所应许我们的，就是永恒的生命。

为着那将要来临的，给自己积存美好的基础，使他们抓住那真正的生命。

因为神的一切应许，在基督里都成为“是”。所以，说“阿们”也是藉着基督，使荣耀藉着我们归于神。

因为罪的工价就是死；但神的恩赐，在我们的主基督耶稣里，却是永恒的生命。

我保罗做基督耶稣的奴仆、蒙召的使徒，是为了神的福音被分别出来的。
