When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed down to pay him honor. David said,“ Mephibosheth!”“ At your service,” he replied.

“ In that case,” the king told Ziba,“ I give you everything Mephibosheth owns.”“ I bow before you,” Ziba replied.“ May I always be pleasing to you, my lord the king.”

But I know that my lord the king is like an angel of God, so do what you think is best.All my relatives and I could expect only death from you, my lord, but instead you have honored me by allowing me to eat at your own table! What more can I ask?”“ You’ve said enough,” David replied.“ I’ve decided that you and Ziba will divide your land equally between you.”“ Give him all of it,” Mephibosheth said.“ I am content just to have you safely back again, my lord the king!”

When Abigail saw David, she quickly got off her donkey and bowed low before him.

Then Jacob went on ahead. As he approached his brother, he bowed to the ground seven times before him.

He looked up and noticed three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he ran to meet them and welcomed them, bowing low to the ground.

As soon as the boy was gone, David came out from where he had been hiding near the stone pile. Then David bowed three times to Jonathan with his face to the ground. Both of them were in tears as they embraced each other and said good bye, especially David.
