He put garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites became subject to David. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.

He stationed some soldiers all through Edom. The whole nation of Edom was brought under David’s rule. The Lord helped him win his battles everywhere he went.

以撒回答以掃說：『看哪，我已經立他做你的主，已經把他的眾弟兄都給他做僕人，已經用五穀新酒資養他，我還能給你作甚麼呢，我兒？』以掃對他父親說：『難道你只有一個福可祝麼，我父？也給我吧，給我祝福吧，我父。』以掃就放聲大哭。他父親以撒回答他說：『看吧，你住的地方、必遠離地上的肥土，遠離天上的甘露。你必靠着你的刀劍度生活，你必服事你弟兄，到你不可駕馭的時候，你必從你脖子上掙開他的軛。』

於是大衛在大馬色的亞蘭設立了駐防營；亞蘭人就臣服於大衛，帶着貢物而來。大衛無論往哪裏去，永恆主都使他得勝。

那時以東沒有王；有個總督做藩王。

看哪，保護以色列的不打盹，也不睡覺。保護你的是永恆主，蔭庇你的是永恆主在你右邊。白天日頭必不傷你，夜裏月亮必不害你。永恆主必保護你免受各樣的禍患；他必保護你的性命。你出你入、永恆主必保護你，從今時直到永遠。

摩押是我的洗腳盆；我向以東拋鞋去擁有它；我對非利士誇勝歡呼。』誰能帶我進堡壘城？誰能領我到以東地呢？
