又索多馬蛾摩拉二邑亦為天主所黜、而付諸一炬、以為後世不肖之炯戒。

此外，所多玛、蛾摩拉及其附近城镇的人同样因为荒淫无度、沉溺于变态的情欲而遭到永火的刑罚。这些事都成为我们的警戒。

又像罗得的时代，人们吃喝、做买卖、耕地、盖房。在罗得离开所多玛那天，烈火和硫磺从天而降，把他们全毁灭了。“人子显现之日的情形也是如此。

以致大地裂开将他们全部吞了下去，当时大火还烧灭了二百五十人——成了后人的警戒。

遍地将是硫磺和盐，无法耕种，寸草不生，如同耶和华盛怒之下毁灭的所多玛、蛾摩拉、押玛和洗扁。

耶和华从天上把燃烧的硫磺降在所多玛和蛾摩拉两地，毁灭了这两座城和其中的居民，包括整个平原和地上的植物。

发生在他们身上的这些事都是鉴戒，之所以记录下来是为了警戒我们这活在末世的人。

上帝要毁灭巴比伦，像毁灭所多玛、蛾摩拉及其周围的城邑一样，使那里人烟绝迹。这是耶和华说的。

向所多玛、蛾摩拉和整个平原眺望，只见那里浓烟滚滚，好像火窑的烟一样。

“我在你们中间施行毁灭，如从前毁灭所多玛和蛾摩拉一样，使你们像从火里抽出的一根柴。尽管如此，你们仍不归向我。这是耶和华说的。

巴比伦在列国中辉煌无比，是迦勒底人的荣耀，但上帝必毁灭她，好像毁灭所多玛和蛾摩拉一样。

以法莲啊，我怎能舍弃你？以色列啊，我怎能弃绝你？我怎能使你的下场如押玛？我怎能对待你如对待洗扁？我的心意改变，我满怀怜爱。

看啊，你妹妹所多玛和她的女儿们傲慢狂妄，安逸饱足，对穷困的人漠不关心。她们心骄气傲，在我面前做可憎的事，我看见后便除掉了她们。撒玛利亚的罪还不及你的一半，你做的事比她们做的更可憎，以致与你相比，你的姊妹倒显得公义了。既然你帮了你的姊妹，使她们显得公义，你就蒙受羞辱吧！因为你犯的罪比你姊妹犯的罪更可憎，以致她们显得比你更公义。因此，你就自取其辱，抱愧蒙羞吧！“‘然而，我要使所多玛、撒玛利亚及她们的女儿们复兴，并使你一同复兴，让你自取其辱，深感羞愧，因为你的一切恶行使她们反得安慰。你姊妹所多玛、撒玛利亚和她们的众女儿，以及你和你的众女儿必恢复起初的光景。在你骄傲的日子，你的恶行还没有被揭露的时候，你觉得妹妹所多玛不屑一提。但现在，你却成为以东的众女儿和她四邻非利士的众女儿的笑柄。你周围的人都鄙视你。

要审判所有的人，按不虔不敬的罪人所行的恶事和他们亵渎上帝的话定他们的罪。”
